Samantha and Troy’s Elegant Wedding at Seabright Beach Club

Details of the Day: Our theme for the day was simple elegance. It was very important to me that this be a wedding AT the beach… not a beach themed wedding. We went with various shades of pinks and had tons of peonies as they are my favorite flower. The Venue: Seabright Beach Club is picturesque, beautiful, and elegant… everything that we wanted in a venue. We had not been to a wedding there before so we liked that it was unique. This is also the beach club that I went to growing up and holds a very dear place in my heart. Since Troy and I started dating the club had become very special to Troy as well. We thought that there was no better place… and it was even more exciting because this was the site of our engagement! The Gown: I wore a Lazaro Gown– Ivory venise lace trumpet bridal gown over cashmere chiffon, V neckline with high back, silk belt at waist, chapel train. This was the 4th dress that I tried on — my mom’s pick! I never wanted to take it off and that is exactly how I knew this was my dress. I loved that it was simple and elegant, but still had a wow factor. Favorite Moment: We did not do a “first look”, so hands down my favorite moment was seeing my groom for the first time as I walked down the aisle. I had tunnel vision and was just in awe walking towards him. On a less conventional note, my favorite moment was when we went with the entire bridal party to Crazees Ice Cream (located right across from our church!). This was such a fun and different element to add to the day and of course captured the greatest photos! Detail You Couldn’t Live Without:  This sounds so simple, but the gold bangle that I wore on my right arm. My grandmother who I was very close with passed away a few years ago and she had left me this bracelet. I know that my grandmother would have just loved this wedding as she was a long standing member of the beach club, so having something personal of hers with me was a constant reminder that even though she was not there physically, she was there in spirit. Something That Went Wrong: Of course! Where do I begin… Well, first off… it rained. I was upset for about 5 seconds and then was having too much fun to notice. My bridesmaid lost her glasses only to find them 10 minutes prior to the ceremony, and that same bridesmaid tripped during her announcement into the reception! Honestly though, I would not have changed these things looking back… the things that “go wrong” are what makes your wedding spontaneous and fun! And no one remembers, or notices. (for the most part). First Dance Song: Nothing Can Change This Love by Sam Cooke. Advice for Other Brides: Do not be a nightmare bride! Be kind to your bridal party. Be kind to your fiance during the planning process… as stressful as things may get. Make sure to greet your guests and be a gracious host. And most importantly– have fun! Enjoy the entire day, because it is gone in a flash! Honeymoon: Santa Monica for a night then to The French Polynesia (Moorea & Bora Bora… 10 days total!). I wish that I could spend all of my days living in an overwater bungalow 🙂
