Sterlyn & Amy

November 11, 2023

Amy and Sterlyn tied the knot at Park Avenue Club on November 11, 2023.

Their Story

Amy and Sterlyn met on Bumble in December 2023.

“Since Sterlyn had just moved to Colorado, our dates were typical touristy Colorado things to do,” says Amy.

“We went to the Nature and Science Museum to see the Body Works exhibit and watched an IMAX on Cuba, we explored the Denver Botanic Gardens, went to Lookout Mountain, walked around City Park, saw Wicked The Musical, and went on hikes, and we traveled.”

The Proposal

The couple went for a romantic dinner at Range Restaurant in Denver. After, they walked around downtown before heading home to see the Christmas lights and the snow flurries.

“We got back to our apartment and he popped the question,” says Amy. “We kept the news from our families for 24 hours to soak in the moment. It was nice having a little secret to ourselves.”

Details of the Day

Their color scheme was white and green. They wanted a clean, minimalist look that was sophisticated and timeless.

“We had a custom Dominican station during cocktail hour with tostones, moro de habichuelas and pork,” says Amy since Sterlyn’s family is Dominican.

The couple decided to skip a ceremony altogether.

“We didn’t have a ceremony since neither of us like the attention like that,” says Amy. “Instead, we had our closest family and friends join before cocktail hour for toasts.”

Choosing the Venue

“I wanted a venue that was different than the venues here in Colorado,—high ceilings, natural light, and a venue that understood guest experience,” says Amy. “Park Avenue Club was that and beyond.”

Favorite Moment

Dancing! “I love dancing and was so happy to dance with my family, friends and Sterlyn,” says Amy.

Detail They Couldn’t Live Without

“I wanted something different and I loved the empty space the pin frog arrangements created,” says Amy about her flowers. “I loved the look of tapered candles too.”

Wedding Day Attire

Sterlyn wore a tux from Groomsment Suit. Amy wore a strapless dress with a slit from BHLDN and the designer was Jenny Yoo. They didn’t have a bridal party.

Advice For Other Couples

“Communication is key,” says Amy. “Be clear about what you need, want and don’t want. Pay attention to your words and tone, and make sure you’re being direct, but respectful. Good communication helps avoid misunderstandings and builds stronger connections.”

Honeymoon
