Robert & Nicolette
Nicolette and Robert planned a spring Crossed Keys Estate wedding with an outdoor ceremony and reception in the modern farmhouse.
Their Story

They met sophomore year of high school and were friends at first; she was shy, and he always tried to make her laugh in Italian class. Nicolette Palmer and Robert Masucci began dating the summer before senior year and have been together since. “We are high school sweethearts,” says Nicolette. “He’s really funny, really sweet. He is selfless and I just liked being around him. As a 16-year-old girl, he made me laugh, and he still does.”
The Proposal

On December 20, 2020, Rob told Nicolette they were going to meet his father and their architect at the site of their future home. When he led her to the backyard, flowers and champagne were waiting and a fresh snowfall added to the beauty. After Rob proposed, their family members joined them to celebrate. “It was really, really special to celebrate with everyone,” says Nicolette. “I loved it.”
Details of the Day

The couple, both 27 at their May 13, 2022, wedding, had an elegant event with an outdoor ceremony and reception in the modern farmhouse at Crossed Keys Estate in Andover. Nicolette loved the venue’s open space, gorgeous wood floors and beams, and a soaring window. “I love greenery,” she says. “I love wildflowers. I wanted it to feel like you were in an enchanted garden.” The space was filled with candlelight and a white and green palette. Nicolette, a vocalist, sang a slow and romantic acoustic version of Tina Turner’s “The Best” to Rob as they shared their first dance. “It was a special moment,” she says.

The Attire
The bride stunned in a mermaid gown that featured embroidered flowers and a sweetheart neckline. For a romantic feel, she added sheer, Swiss dot off-the-shoulder sleeves. “It really was beautiful,” says Nicolette. “It exceeded my expectations. That’s the exact look I was going for.” She carried a bouquet of dried wildflowers. Rob wore a suit made of a gold-blue fabric with a shimmer that appeared forest green. “It tied the whole color scheme together,” says Nicolette.

Special Touches
Guests recorded voice messages for the newlyweds on a rotary phone. They also found their seating assignment written on mirrors.

Favorite Detail
Nicolette loved their photo op spot: a green backdrop with their last name spelled out in dried flowers. “It was beautiful,” she says. “We have it hanging up now in our house.”

Favorite Moment
“After I did my first look with him, I felt so much relief,” says Nicolette. “It was just me and him in that moment. I knew there was nothing to be nervous about. It was such a special moment for us to share together alone and away from everyone.”

Special Memory
It began to rain just before their ceremony. The guests were moved under a covered area and they waited it out until the showers slowed to a drizzle.

“We started singing ‘Here Comes the Sun,’” says Nicolette. “The sun didn’t come, but the rain subsided a little bit.” Guests were seated with umbrellas, the ceremony was quick and beautiful, and the song-filled rain delay became a special memory.
Advice
Nicolette urges brides to try not to stress. “It all works out,” she says. “I feel like it can get very overwhelming. Try to enjoy the process and try to enjoy each moment because it only happens hopefully once in a lifetime.”

Honeymoon
The Masuccis, who call Staten Island home, enjoyed a honeymoon in Italy, with visits to the Amalfi coast, Florence, Tuscany and Venice.
