Mary and Andrew at The Venetian

Posted on February 26, 2020 by Ariana Baio

We did not have a theme, instead our colors were mauve, gold and white. I have always loved flowers so I chose the look of the bouquets. I also built the shorter centerpieces at the reception.

We’ve been to many venues for weddings, bridal showers, etc. The Venetian is by far the best venue we’ve been to and also met our budget. They exceeded our expectations all around.

First Course: salad. Intermezzo: lemon sorbet. Dinner: Châteaubriand, chicken, or Chilean sea bass

My gown was from Kitty Chen Couture – The Ivoire Collection. It’s a white fit and flair gown with a plunging sweetheart neckline and sparkling, lacy, beaded back. It has a cathedral-length train with intricate lace appliqués. I found it by chance on the same day I went to the bridal store with my sisters to narrow down three dresses to one. That’s when my bridal consultant told me about a new dress they had just bought. I put on the dress and walked up to the mirror. When I looked in the mirror, I fell in love with all of the intricate details and how it glistened in the light. I honestly felt like a bride when I had it on. I hadn’t felt like that with any other dress. I took a few days to think about it, tried on the dress again, and that’s when I knew for sure this was the dress.

When I entered into the church and saw Andrew standing at the altar, shedding a tear.

Everything was perfect!

Make your wedding as simple or as elegant as you want it to be. People will tell you what you should and shouldn’t do. People will also tell you how much they regret the amount of money they spent on this or that. Make a rough draft budget and try to stick to those numbers. If you stick to it, great. If you don’t, it’s okay because it’s your wedding day. Andrew and I put so much into planning our wedding that we don’t regret a single expense. In fact, we would do the whole thing all over again with all of our vendors, family and friends. Another piece of advice is book a hair and makeup artist just for yourself. Book another hair and makeup artist for your bridesmaids/mother of the bride/etc. You want as much time spent on you as possible without having to worry if everyone else is going to be done in time. Lastly, enjoy every moment of this day. It will go by so fast. Don’t let anything bring you down.
