“Our wedding theme was old Hollywood glamour. My dress was peplum styled–the same style dress I was wearing when I got engaged and celebrated the next day in!”
“Our wedding day was a gorgeous September day. We took pictures by the piano at the Wilshire Grand Hotel–it all looked so old Hollywood. We went then to Verona Park, followed by our venue Richfield Regency. While it was a Sunday afternoon affair, we wanted an elegant style to the wedding, which is why the groomsmen wore tuxedos and the bridesmaids wore long gowns. Our color scheme was gold and burgundy. We also had My 3 Sons Band (my cousins and uncle) perform several songs, including the Matthew and Leigh Wedding Song! They wrote it just for us.”
Your favorite part:
“My favorite part had to be doing our choreographed first dance to Cheek To Cheek By Frank Sinatra. My mom and I made the dance up to teach to Matthew. Since we come from a dancing family, we just had to do this. Matthew and I practiced for two months leading up to the wedding. As soon as we started dancing the crowd roared because it was so unexpected. Everyone loved it! Also, the entrance way to the ceremony was lined with pictures of Matthew and me throughout our six year relationship.”
If you could change one thing about your wedding what would it be?
“I wish my father was there. He passed away in 2011 on my parents’ 35th wedding anniversary. My uncle walked me down the aisle with my mom instead.”
Advice for other brides:
“Walk down the aisle slowly. You only get to do it once. Milk it.”
