We met through mutual friends out at a lounge the rest was history.
We went to go check engagement ring styles, prices and sizes for me so he knew what I would like. He completely surprised me by proposing in the store. I was so surprised. I thought we were just going to look at rings, when the sales person said, “ok time to give it back,” I did and then the next thing I knew he was down on one knee with the ring I picked. So that was perfect.
We got married on the beach so I wanted mostly white/ivory, but it was a fall beach wedding so my flowers were dark plum, white, orange and coral pink. We added a lot of beach decor, shells and whales.
We chose our venue, because we go to the beach every weekend in Seaside Park, two blocks away from the famous sawmill. We always go to the sawmill for a beach break and some grub. We frequent there and they know us. We had no idea they did weddings upstairs. When we saw the space allowing us to get married on the beach with a reception of panoramic ocean views we were sold instantly.
For cocktail hour: crab cakes, coconut shrimp, spinach pies and cocktail wieners. All so good! Dinner we had a prime rib carving station and opted for a buffet in case guests wanted to continue to dance or chat. For dinner: veggie lasagna, chicken franchisee, mashed potatoes, salmon and veggies. For cake we went with a naked funfetti buttercream cake topped with our beach chairs.
I found my gown after searching on the internet for lace dresses. This specific dress-maker, Grace Love Lace, popped up and I loved the dress in the advertisement. When I visited the site, every dress was gorgeous. I fell in love with the Hollie 2.0 and went to the showroom in SoHo. They are actually an Australian designer. Upon arrival, I tried five dresses all which were amazing on me but I decided to go with the one I originally fell in love with. I wound up wearing the very last Hollie 2.0 as it has now been discontinued, which makes it even more special to me.
I think it may have been the ceremony, or our first dance I have since watched it so many times and they both make me cry happy tears you can just see the love we share.
I may have to say my bouquet. I incorporated pictures of my late brother weaved into my bouquet and I really needed a way to have him be a part of my day.
Not a thing. I cannot believe it, even during this whole Covid nightmare.

Enjoy your day best you can because it goes so fast and you’re pulled in so many directions. Try to remember moments to take it all in.
We are heading to Guanacaste, Costa Rica for 12 days.
