How did you meet?
Wilson and I met through match.com. I liked a photo of Wilson and Pluto, his dog. We joke that we’re not sure if I liked Wilson or Pluto more.

How did you get engaged?
Wilson proposed while we were vacationing in Florida and visiting St. Augustine’s fort. We had fond memories from a previous visit there so he thought it would be the perfect setting. It was perfect, but he was so nervous while asking.

Details of the day!
Our theme was purple, green and gold accents. It felt very romantic and classic. Our florist hung tulle and lighting over our dance floor. I’m very crafty so there was a lot of DIY elements in the decor.

Why did you choose Ballyowen Golf Club?
I loved the backdrop of golf course for the ceremony. The golf course was really magical for photos. We also liked the somewhat rustic elegance feel.

What was on your menu?
For cocktail hour, we had so much food. I’m half Italian and Wilson is Ecuadorian, so we had an Italian station with eggplant rollatini, sausage and peppers, calamari and a latino station with churrasco steak, garlic shrimp, grilled mahi mahi, yucca and tostones. For dinner, we had grilled fliet mignon with a zinfandel reduction, herb crusted salmon with a sun dried tomato pesto cream sauce, or penne rigate with lemon pepper, sun dried tomato, roasted garlic and baby spinach. For cake, we had fresh strawberries and cream and tiramisu. We also had a birthday cake for my nephew and glaze artisan donuts.

All about your gown!
My gown was mermaid style. It was tight in the bodice and tulle flowing out at the bottom. I knew it was the one when I tried it on and instantly felt so romantic. I also remember showing my mom and family and them being blown away.

What was your favorite moment?
Walking (or should I say bawling) down the aisle. It was so emotional seeing my family, friends and now husband at the end of the aisle for our ceremony. We felt so loved.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
My bouquet and the pumpkin centerpieces were so cool. I love how they turned out.

Did anything go wrong?
A few things but no one noticed. We just rolled with the punches and didn’t let it ruin the day
The father of the groom was missing his boutonniere, but my florist rush back to bring him one. The groom’s parents were missing from the ceremony lineup but my maitre’d got them. The hotel had an issue with hot water in the morning when myself and my bridal party were getting ready. When we were heading over to the venue, we noticed a firetruck and there was a gas scare at the hotel. This almost prevented Wilson’s family from arriving early for photos.

First dance song?

Any advice for future brides?
Try to enjoy the day despite mishaps and take a second to breathe. I stopped midway down the aisle to regain my composure and soak in the moment.

Honeymoon
2 weeks in Argentina. We went hiking on glaciers in Patagonia and spent time enjoying steak, wine, and art in Buenos Aires.
