Kimberly and Tom at Addison Park

How did you meet?
Tom and I met in 2014 through his cousin who decided to set us up. We hit it off right away and they rest is history!

How did you get engaged?
We went on vacation to the Jewel Dunn’s River Resort in Ocho Rios, Jamaica in August 2015. It was to celebrate our birthdays since we are both born in August. Instead, I was surprised by Tom proposing to me! He set up a dinner at sunset, on top of the resorts waterfall pool. We had a romantic dinner under a gazebo. He then tricked me by giving me a gift bag for my “birthday” and instead got down on one knee and asked me to spend forever with him! He then had a bungalow on the beach set up for the night and we called everyone in our families to tell them the exciting news! It was the most romantic night that I will never forget!

Details of the day!
We had a perfect August day! It wasn’t too hot or humid! Our theme was a classic romantic Black Tie wedding with silver and red accents. We had white bouquets and boutonnieres for our bridal party, with a red bouquet and boutonniere for Tom and I. Our centerpieces were all high with beautiful white arrangements, with red rose petals accented on the tables.

We had an awesome handmade photo booth that my sister had made for us, for guests to take Polaroid pictures to leave memories of the evening! We had a beautiful Dais for our bridal party to join us at to keep a classic tradition to go along with our day! Our ceremony was outside in the beautiful ground at Addison Park. It was perfect. Our florist decorated it so beautifully and romantic with flower petals going down the isle, along with lanterns lit with candles, and two beautiful arrangements on roman columns at the end of the isle.

Our favors were bottles of wine with personalized wine labels that had our engagement photo, along with cute tags I had made from Etsy. Our DJ kept the dance floor packed the entire night! The details all came together and accented the decor of Addison Park perfectly!

Why did you choose your venue?
I knew that Addison Park was the venue for us as soon as we walked through the door. The black and white decor is so formal, classic and elegant. This was exactly what we had in mind before we had even started looking at venues. We only looked at one other venue, but I already knew that this was it! My husband felt the exact same way that no other venue even compared and we booked the following week!

What was on your menu ?
Our menu started with salad, then a pasta dish of your choice. For dinner we had a choice of Chicken, Prime Rib, Eggplant, or a Seafood Medley. It was so delicious! Our cocktail hour was also full of anything you could even imagine! The food at Addison Park is out of this world delicious! I still have guests from our wedding telling us how amazing the whole day was! Our cake was vanilla with cannoli and chocolate chip filling, with a buttercream frosting! It was delicious! I can’t wait to have it again on our 1 year anniversary!

All about your gown!
My gown was beautiful! It was a strapless ball gown, beaded with lace that flowed into the train. I had a beautiful belt added to it as well. I had tried on about 9 other dresses then I knew as soon as I put this one on that it was the one. I came out of the dressing room to stand in front of the mirror to then have a veil put on me. At that moment I knew and once the tears hit you know that its the one! It was the best feeling in the world. A moment I had dreamed of my whole life! It was exactly how I always pictured that moment to be.

What was your favorite moment?
My favorite moment was walking down the isle, looking at my husband. He was so handsome and I could see the excitement and love in his eyes. I couldn’t help but smile so hard, because that was the happiest moment of my life, knowing that I was marrying the most amazing man at that very moment and knowing how truly blessed we are for this perfect day. The music playing with our family and friends surrounding us was so perfect. I felt so much love and happiness around us that it was just the best feeling in the world.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
I wouldn’t change anything.

Did anything go wrong?
Absolutely nothing went wrong. Even if anything had, it went unnoticed because we had such a perfect day that nothing could ruin it! We were both very much in the moment that day and it went by so fast!

First dance song?
You and I by Michael Bublé

Any advice for future brides?
Make sure you remember to step back, look around, take deep breaths, and take everything in. Remember the details of the day that you put together. It goes by so fast that you want to remember as many moments as you can. It’s the best day of your life, so don’t stress the small stuff and remember the most important part of the day is that you are starting the rest of your life with your best friend, and the love of your life!

Honeymoon Location
We went to Sandals Ochi in Ocho Rios Jamaica! It was the best honeymoon we could have asked for! I recommend this resort to any honeymooners! We had a Butler Suite with an ocean view room, with a balcony overlooking the entire beach. It was so romantic and fun! We plan to go back to celebrate future anniversaries!
