How did you meet?
Joe and I met in middle school. I had the biggest crush on Joe but he never knew. It wasn’t until the summer before senior year of high school that we began dating. Our first date was at the beach in Belmar, NJ. I was so nervous that when he came up to the door, I ran out and dropped all my things. It wasn’t until after I frantically picked everything up that I then noticed him standing there. It was a total Lizzie McGuire moment. From that first date on, we clicked, we both knew that was it for both of us.

How did you get engaged?
After six years of dating, Joe popped the question! It was a random Saturday in the spring and he was very adamant about going to a park, Morris Arboretum, in Pennsylvania to see the cherry blossom trees in full bloom. Joe is not normally an outdoorsy type so I thought this was a little strange but didn’t think too much of it; it was a beautiful day to get out in the fresh air. We walked around the park for a bit, but I noticed he looked uncomfortable, almost limping. We sat down on a park bench and suddenly he was on one knee pulling out a massive ring box from his boot! I am still not sure what he said but he started with, I blacked out and then remember a ring on my finger!

Details of the day!
For the overall theme for the day, I decided to keep everything as classy and simple as possible! Although I am an artist, I am not of fan of color. We kept everything neutral/pastel. My bridesmaids were in blush & sand gowns and Joe and the groomsmen were in midnight blue tuxes! Our florals consisted of white with greenery while the bridal party florals featured the tone of the bridesmaids’ dresses! Our centerpieces were tall clear vases with crystals and a light shining up from the base. At the top, was a large assortment of white florals and greenery matching my bouquet! Our guestbook consisted of a photo album of our engagement photos for our guests to sign and is now on our coffee table in the living room! Our signature drink was The George, an old-fashioned, named after our little puppy.

Why did you choose your venue?
Joe and I love the beach. We grew up going there and was our first date. When I was beginning to look at venues, I wanted something super high-end and classy and was worried the shore venues were too informal. However, when I first walked into Clark’s Landing, I was blown away! It is beyond elegant and classic. It fit the exact vision I had in mind! The location and views were stunning, I knew it was the one! Nicole gave us a tour and we fell in love not only with the venue but also with her. She was amazing to work with throughout the entire process, even through our 2020 postponement. The day of, the entire staff and Judy kept us so organized and made sure we were all taken care of. The food was amazing, the service was top-tier, and the building with its views are like no other. I cannot recommend another venue more highly than Clark’s Landing!

What was on your menu?
We chose Chicken Marquise, Chateaubriand, Seafood Trio, and Eggplant Rollatini! Clark’s Landing was also super accommodating of any food allergies our guests have. For dessert, the cake was provided from Chocolate Carousel and was not only beautiful but tasted amazing! The flavor we chose was a chocolate chip with cannoli filling! For myself and any other gluten, dairy and/or soy free guests, we got a small cake from Papa Ganache and it was the best gluten-free dessert I have ever had! They were so accommodating and easy to work with! I highly recommend them if you have any allergies! To end the night, guests were served Pork Roll, Egg & Cheeses, Zeppolis, and saltwater taffy as part of the Jersey Shore To Go station Clark’s provided! Our favors were little Champagne bottles so our guests were set for the shuttle ride home!

All about your gown!
Ever since I was little, I wanted a Barbie princess ballgown. I thought my vision would change as I got older but it never really did. After seeing Bride Wars, I knew that is exactly what I wanted! My mom, sister, mother-in-law, aunt, and I all went to Castle Couture to try on gowns. I showed Lisa, our consultant, a few inspiration photos and she was able to pull so many gowns well within our budget! I ended up purchasing the dress and added more tulle to the skirt to make it even more full! Go big or go home, right?!

What was your favorite moment?
There were so many great moments but if I had to choose one, it would be the first look. Last year, Joe and I got married in our church due to COVID and we did not do a first look. I am so happy we were able to this year, it made the moment so special just being the two of us and our excitement for the day. Other moments throughout the day like getting ready with my friends, our first dance, the father-daughter dance, the speeches, seeing our friends and family all together after a long year, there were so many amazing moments that Joe and I were saying the whole way back to the hotel, that was just so amazing, so fun, we wish we could do it over and over again.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
I had a little frame of my grandparents to my bouquet. They are no longer with us but I wanted to make them a part of the day as much as possible. They walked me down the aisle on my wedding day.

Did anything go wrong?
Not that we know of! If anything did go wrong, Clark’s Landing was really good at ensuring we weren’t worried about it!

Any advice for future brides?
Trust your vendors! You hired them for a reason and they are there to take away any stress you may have so let them!

Honeymoon Location?
Joe started medical school the following Monday so we have yet to plan one for the foreseeable future! Hopefully Barbados one day!
