Kayla and Michael got married on September 7, 2024 at the Park Savoy.
Their Story
Michael and Kayla first met at the start of their junior year of high school. They quickly became friends and even purposely picked classes together for their senior year. It was always unspoken, but there was something there between them.

Having lost touch as the years went by, six years later….Kayla decided to DM Michael who rarely posted on social media. From there they went on their first date.

The Proposal
After dating for four years, Michael proposed at one of their favorite places, the Hamptons. He told Kayla they were going on a wine tour before heading back home from a weekend trip. But as their tour guide guided them through Wölffer Estate, a beautiful gazebo was in the middle of the grounds and Michael got down on one knee and had a photographer there to take their engagement photos after.

Details of the Day
The theme was romantic elegance with a soft, warm color palette of copper, blush, cream, and muted greens, complemented by gold accents to go with the September season.

The decor featured lush, cascading florals, delicate lace tablecloths, lace cream chargers, and soft ambient lighting.
Unique vintage touches seamlessly blended with classic and modern luxury elements was the overall look.

Choosing the Venue
After touring six venues in New Jersey, Kayla had one more option to show Mike.

While being a student, she had planned Montclair State’s winter gala at the Park Savoy Estate and knew Michael would fall in love with the timeless and historic feel of the venue and especially their cigar lounge.

As soon as they walked in, she could see in Michael’s face this was their venue.
Favorite Moment
The couple’s first dance was their favorite moment.

“We had taken so many dance classes leading up,” says Kayla, “but while we were practicing as guests enjoyed cocktail hour, we kept messing up because of the nerves. When the moment came to actually do the dance in front of family and friends, all the nerves left us and it turned out perfect like we had done in the dance studio.”
Detail They Couldn’t Live Without
“I could not live without adding an element of surprise,” says Kayla. “During the planning process it was hard not tell everyone everything. I decided to keep the entertainment part a surprise!”

During the cocktail hour, vintage lamp shade performers greeted guests whom later changed into disco ball performers for the after party. “Everyone loved it and the ring bearer was convinced that it was two of my bridesmaids,” says Kayla.

Advice For Other Couples
Your wedding day should be something you experience together. Often times you can be pulled in different directions during the reception, but staying by each other’s side that day is key.

Honeymoon
They spent their honeymoon in St. Lucia, “the perfect destination for our style of vacation—relaxing on the beach with nothing to do but soak up the sun,” says Kayla. “After all the wedding planning, all we wanted was pure relaxation. To make the most of our 10 days, we split our stay between two resorts. We began at Jade Mountain, renowned for its open-wall rooms and stunning views, and ended at Sugar Beach Resort.”
