Katie and Andrew at The Coach House at Ryland Inn

Posted on January 13, 2020 by Ariana Baio

We met at a bar called Home Sweet Home in November of 2013. I was dressed up for Halloween for a friends birthday party, Andy wasn’t. I walked up to Andy and asked him to dance because he was one of the tallest (and most handsome) guys there. We ended up going on our first real date a couple days later and have been together since.

I had a feeling he was going to propose in Lake Placid because it was our four year anniversary and he was very adamant about going away for the weekend. I was very busy at work leading up to the weekend, so when he did proposal on Friday night before dinner I was so caught off guard. It was the perfect surprise!

Clean, simple and modern. I love that we incorporated some pieces of our relationship like the table numbers being cities, and that our signature drink is named after the place we met. Also we incorporated a lot of greenery into our florals because we both really like how it gives a bit of a woodsy feel. Our table “numbers”  were cities that we have visited together. Our colors were mauve and white with a lot of greenery.

We visited about six venues and we both agreed that the Coach House at the Ryland Inn was it. We loved the bit of a rustic feel but also how it felt like we could make the space reflect us as a couple. We’ve also heard the food is amazing and as self declared foodies we want our guests to have the best experience.

It took me forever to find a dress! But once I put this one on I knew it was the one. The simplicity of it is just so perfectly me. I’m also wore my mom’s veil which was awesome – it’s almost 50 yrs old!

We kept reminding ourselves that at the end the day the wedding day is about the two of us and our journey to get there. Any time we started to stress we just remembered that as long as we are both there at the altar, nothing else matters!

New Zealand and Fiji! We are so excited to explore and hike throughout the country of New Zealand and then spend some time in Fiji relaxing.
