How did you meet?
We met on Bumble in May of 2017. After a few days of talking, we met for the first time on May 21, 2017 at Pancho’s Burritos in New Milford, NJ.

How did you get engaged?
We got engaged on April 20, 2019. Dave planned a date night for us at one of our favorite restaurants, Rails Steakhouse in Towaco, NJ. We got all dressed up, went to the restaurant, and they sat us at the same table we sat at the first time we went. After we finished dinner, we just sat there talking. Dave asked me how much I loved him. I told him I loved him more than all of the shoes, clothes, and handbags in the world. I then asked him if he loved me more than all of the boats and cars in the world. He said, “Yes, and I am going to show you how much”. He then walked over to my side of the table, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him! I of course cried and said, “YES!”. There was a photographer there that captured the whole moment. The next surprise was that our immediate families were downstairs in the speakeasy waiting to celebrate with us! We celebrated the whole night. It was truly perfect!

Details of the day!
Our wedding was a modern, romantic Great Gatsby wedding. We both love the book and the movie, so we felt it was a perfect “theme” for us. Our colors were champagne, gold, black, and ivory. Our invitations were black and gold, and we incorporated a quote from The Great Gatsby on the belly band. All of our flowers were ivory. The girls wore champagne-colored dresses, and the guys wore black tuxedos.

Why did you choose your venue?
We chose The Park Savoy as our venue because it instantly felt right. The grounds are stunning, and the ballroom is even more magnificent. On top of that, we loved the history behind the venue. We felt like it was meant to be with our “Gatsby” wedding. Lastly, the staff was one of a kind. We instantly felt like family, and they took such good care of us throughout the whole process. When we had to postpone due to COVID-19, they made it easy for us. On the day of the wedding, the entire staff was even more amazing. Our bridal attendants were total sweethearts and took care of everything that we needed. The waitresses and waiters were also amazing and provided great service for our guests. We are so happy that we chose The Park Savoy, it was the best day!

What was on your menu?
Our cake from Calandra’s was stunning and it tasted amazing! It was a four-tiered ivory cake with accents of gold. Each layer had its own flavor, but our favorite by far was the vanilla cake with raspberry preserves.

All about your gown!
I wore the Marilyn Gown by Enaura Bridal. It was a fit and flare dress with a sweetheart neckline, had scalloped beading throughout the dress, and a ruffled tulle skirt. I got my dress from Kleinfeld in NYC, and went with my mom, sister, mother in law, sister-in-law, and my old boss turned close friend. The day we went, I had a bunch of photos of dresses printed that I liked (none of which were my dress). I tried them all on, and none of them gave me the WOW moment that I was looking for. My consultant Krissy (she’s amazing), said there was a trunk show for Enaura Bridal, and that the designer was there. She spoke to the designer, Sohil, told him my vision for my wedding, and he pulled a couple of dresses for me. I tried his dresses on, and the moment I put on the Marilyn gown, I knew it was the one. I felt truly beautiful and had my WOW moment. It was the only dress I could see myself marrying Dave in.

What was your favorite moment?
The whole day was absolutely perfect, and it is so hard to pick a favorite moment. But the one that comes closest to mind, is walking down the aisle to meet Dave at the altar. I walked down the aisle with my Dad by my side to Haley Reinhart’s cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. The second I heard the song come on and the doors open, I made eye contact with Dave and just lost it. It was a dream come true moment; we were finally having our dream wedding day! It was truly perfect!

Fun Fact: After having to postpone due to the pandemic, Dave and I still got married on our original wedding day, October, 23, 2020. We only had immediate family there that day in the church with us. We wanted to renew our vows in front of all of our guests on August 1, 2021, so that they could be witnesses to our marriage. Dave and I were both way more emotional the second time around when I walked down the aisle. I think it was both of us realizing that the dream wedding that we planned for 2 years was finally here. It was an actual dream come true.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
One detail that was super important for us was to have great music. We like to dance and have a good time, so we wanted to make sure that all of our guests would dance and have a good time also. Right after we booked The Park Savoy, we made an appointment with POSH DJs after seeing all of their billboards on NJ highways. The day we met with Evan, we knew we had to book him. His energy and music just clicked with us. On the day of the wedding, Evan was absolutely amazing and totally killed it! The dance floor was packed all night!

Did anything go wrong?
The only “downfall” of the day was the weather. It rained on and off for the majority of the day. Unfortunately, when we were leaving the chapel it started to pour. We never got photos of us exiting the chapel with all of our guests cheering us on. On the bright side of things, we were able to get formal photos outside in the garden!

Any advice for future brides?
Enjoy every second of the planning process and do not stress over the things that are out of your control. No matter what, you will have the best day of your life. Enjoy every single second of your wedding day because it will be the fastest day of your life.

Honeymoon Location
We went to Aruba and stayed at the Riu Palace Antillas. Aruba is amazingly beautiful and has some of the best restaurants we have ever been to!
