Fran & Brian at Crystal Point Yacht Club

Posted on August 15, 2023 by New Jersey Bride

Fran and Brian loved their venue because it was on the water and they are both beach people. Their favorite part of their Crystal Point Yacht Club wedding was their Fresh New Angle team who provided their DJ, photographer and videographer.

Brian and Fran met during a work training. “We found out later that we both thought the other was cute! A few months later, we both attended a work event and became good friends and from there we just chatted a lot. We went on our first date at Mrs. Walker’s Ice Cream and the rest is history,” says Fran.

“If you ask Brian, I ruin surprises and can’t help myself,” says Fran. It was their dating anniversary and Fran’s parents were joining the couple to go to Hoboken to take pictures on the water. They’re taking photos and then the parking meter timer runs out. Brian goes by himself to go add money, he comes back, “and I totally started checking his pockets,” says Fran. But she didn’t find a ring. “A pose or two goes by and little did I know while ‘adjusting us,’ my mom slipped the box into Brian’s pocket. They told me to face him and boom! Brian said after, ‘what would you have done if you went in my pocket and found the ring? You would have ruined it for yourself.’ You bet. But he loves me anyway!” says Fran.

For their nautical-themed wedding on June 24, 2023, Fran and Brian incorporated blue throughout the big day. The bridesmaids wore dusty blue dresses. The men wore boutonnieres with white roses and a sprig of light blue delphinium. Fran’s flowers were white roses with seeded eucalyptus with a touch of light blue delphiniums. “I also had a beautiful charm I had purchased on Amazon to honor my cousin that passed away and couldn’t be with us,” says Fran.

“It’s absolutely stunning inside and out,” says Fran. “We love that it was on the water because we are both beach, water type of people. On top of that, they are known for the absolutely amazing cocktail hour that they have and delicious dinner options. We are huge foodies and definitely wanted to have great food.”

Their cocktail hour had pretty much anything you could want, including a bacon bar, mashed potato bar, raw bar and sushi bar, grill station, pasta station and more. For dinner, guests enjoyed a mini lobster roll and a garden salad. The entree options were chicken crystal, which is chicken that has a light flour dusting and then is layered with spinach, roasted red peppers, prosciutto, mozzarella and finished with a sherry wine sauce with potatoes and greens; filet mignon consisting of a grilled eight ounce portion with bordelaise sauce and topped with frizzled onions, mashed potatoes and asparagus; fresh Atlantic salmon that was seasoned and grilled with a lemon basil vinaigrette with a pea and corn risotto and broccolini; and lastly a vegetarian option. The cake was chocolate with amaretto mousse and buttercream icing which was paired with a raspberry and chocolate cheesecake. There was also a three tier pedestal of pastries and fruit.

Bridal Style

Fran’s dress was a mermaid style Martina Liana gown with a seven layer skirt with a long train. “When I walked into the bridal shop this was the first dress that caught my eye,” says Fran. “As soon as I put it on, I felt amazing. I then tried on another 10 dresses and not a single dress compared to my dress. I felt completely amazing inside and out. I also had a custom hand made 15-foot veil made in the Philippines to match my dress. It was a statement to say the least!”

Favorite Moment

“My favorite moment was when the music started in the church and my husband looked at me and started to cry uncontrollably,” says Fran. “I felt so much love. I felt so beautiful and I could not have been happier in that moment walking down the aisle to marry my amazing husband.”

“We hired Fresh New Angle for our DJ, photography and videography needs and when I tell you they are amazing, I’m not kidding,” says Fran. “From the start of my day Torri my photographer and David my videographer were perfect, no exaggeration. They planned ahead for anything and everything that could possibly happen. They coordinated everything so smoothly and seamlessly. Torri was ready for anything, always having tissues and coming up with jokes and pictures of her kitten to help me choke back tears. They made each moment throughout the day feel intimate, special and truly perfect. No special moment was missed. This team makes sure that everything is captured and I could not have asked for more. If we needed anything throughout the day they were there for us.”

Fran says that extra care and attention extended into the reception. “DJ Chucky Hype Gookins kept the party going from start to finish, playing the best music, interacting with all of our guests no matter their age, and he was on our dance floor,” says Fran. “Our guests are still talking about how amazing it was! Chucky and the entire Fresh New Angle team are truly the best. They are personable, caring and just amazing at what they do. They honored and exceeded every request we made for our wedding day. We would not have changed our team for the world. The best decision we made was hiring this team who is now like family to us. We were truly so blessed.”

Advice

“Take a deep breath,” says Fran. “When you’re feeling overwhelmed or frustrated, know that you’re not alone. We have all been there at some point. Just remember that the most important part of your wedding day is marrying your person. Everything else is just an added bonus to make your day extra special. Things may go wrong or not as planned, but don’t let it get you down because you just spent so much time and effort to make the day perfect. It will never be absolutely perfect. I had rain on my wedding day and had the most stunning pictures regardless. Roll with the punches and just go with it because all your loved ones will roll with it to and all they will care about is being part of your special day! Stick with your person everywhere you go so that you don’t miss out on a single moment together.”

Honeymoon

The couple went to Sandals St. Lucia Grande. “I can’t say enough good things about it,” says Fran. “We were treated so well. The sights were amazing and the food was spectacular! We had the most amazing week celebrating our marriage.”
