How did you meet?
We met online! (OKCupid!)
How did he ask?
We were vacationing in Key West, FL in August 2016. Sean proposed on The Sunset Pier.
Details of your day!
We always knew we wanted to get married down the shore. We love going there; it is our “happy place.” We also wanted to try to make it a weekend event because we have a lot of out-of-state and out-of-country guests. When we visited The English Manor in September of 2016, we knew instantly that this was our venue. Mary, Sean’s mom, was with us and actually found the venue online! The English Manor was everything we were looking for. We didn’t have a set theme, but we had a lot of wooden signs, table number written on glass, greenery, bright colors and flowers. The decor was made by our friend, Brie. We had chocolate covered pretzels as our favors.
What was on your menu?
We had 3 entrees: filet mignon, salmon and chicken Isabella. For dessert, a canoli cake with a plate of assorted desserts for each guest.
What was your favorite moment?
Our favorite moment of the night was when we finally got to sit down and eat dinner. Sean and I looked out at all our guests from the sweetheart table and could not believe that everything was here for us. We knew we had to really soak it in and take each moment as it came to us.
Something you couldn’t live without?
Our maitre’d, Kristi! She was phenomenal and the reason the day/night went to smoothly!
Did anything go wrong?
Nothing went wrong! We did regret not eating at our cocktail hour. We were so excited to eat all the food we picked out, but with bustling my dress, taking pictures and greeting guests, we barely got a chance to eat the cocktail hour food. We did want to make sure we said “hi” to everyone during this time though, so we could thoroughly enjoy the party and the dance floor!!
What was your favorite detail?
It’s hard to imagine your “vision” when it is just a vision. It was so awesome to see everything together; the girls’ dresses, guys suits, jewelry, shoes, flowers, signs, pictures, cake topper, sweetheart table decor, centerpieces, lighting, etc. It ALL came together and was exactly what I wanted.
Honeymoon location?
We had a honeymoon planned for Italy/Greece in August. We ended up canceling the trip in March because we bought a house!! (Yes, we are that crazy to plan a wedding and buy a house at the same time!!) We are planning to go to Florida in August for a much needed getaway!
