How did you meet?
Michael and I were set up on a blind date 4 years from the day we were married through a mutual friend! We both remember meeting for the first time and thinking it felt so familiar. We knew very early on.. this was it.
How did he ask?
It was Mike’s birthday. We were celebrating and having cake at my parents home. When Mike went to blow out his candles he turned to me and said “The only wish I want today and forever is for you to be my wife (along with a lot of other sweet stuff but I pretty much blacked out from excitement)”. Before I knew it he was down on one knee in front of my entire family (including my grandparents). Before I knew it I was saying “yes”! It was the best moment of our lives aside from when we got married.
Details of your day!
The girls wore a taupe latte and the flowers were white, blush and pops of green (I included raw crystals in my bouquet to bring calm vibes all day!!). The wedding included silver accents and the men in classic black and white. My dress was ivory. It was important to us to keep everything as classic as possible. The tables were all white with pops of blush pink including Rose Quartz candle holders.
What was on your wedding menu?
Cocktail hour had anything and everything from sushi, to a carving station. Wedding Menu was our favorites. Martini Caprese, followed by Amuse Busche – Limoncello, followed by your choice of Prime Rib or Salmon and finished off with Wedding Cake (Almond cake with cannoli filling), Dessert pedestals, and Night Owl Breakfast (pork roll, egg and cheese sandwiches, bacon egg and cheese sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches).
All about the gown!
It’s funny how you go into your bridal appointment thinking you will leave with one thing and I left with something totally different! My dress was a ball gown but I did remove a few layers to make it more A-Line. I loved my Morilee gown (style 2808). It had everything I wanted.. Sparkle, Lace, sweetheart neckline, and a long beautiful train. My bustle went underneath my gown which was a nice added touch.
Favorite moment?
Probably right after we got married. Mike and I snuck off to the side to be alone. We both cried and hugged and told each other how much we loved each other. It was so personal and intimate. Truly a moment we will never forget.
One detail you couldn’t live without?
My diamond bracelet. It was a gift from my mother. My mother received that same bracelet from my father over 20 years ago! On my wedding day she gave me it to wear and keep forever! It’s so special to me.
Did anything go wrong?
Of course! Nothing is ever perfect. Although nothing could ruin the day. We took photos outside before ceremony. It was 95 Degrees!!! I don’t think Mike and I have ever sweated so much in our entire lives! The flowers were not exactly what I asked for (although they were still beautiful). All in all not too much went wrong but it was still the best day ever!!
First dance song?
“Perfect” by Ed Sheeran
Advice for other brides?
Enjoy every single second. I had the most amazing groom that made sure to tell me to look around and appreciate the day. I remember thinking “wow, this room is full of SO MUCH love and support!” It was truly incredible.
