Derek & Lindsey
Derek and Lindsey wed at Mallard Island Yacht Club on May 16, 2025.
Their Story
Derek and Lindsey met at Hanover Park High School and started dating their senior year. They stayed together through college, visiting each other at Duke and Villanova.

They moved in together after graduating, living first outside Philly and now in Hoboken.
The Proposal
Derek proposed the first weekend that the couple spent in their new apartment in Hoboken in 2023. He got down on one knee on the Hoboken waterfront and popped the question.

They spent the night with the city view as the backdrop at the Chart House in Weehawken and celebrated with an engagement party at the W Hotel in Hoboken a few months later.

Details of The Day
Their color scheme was sage, dusty blue, white, cream and gold accents. Lindsey wanted the climbing fireplace piece in the chapel to be a centerpiece of their photos so she opted for white florals with blue and pink accents.

Their signage tied in sage and dusty blue with laser cut name cards for the head table. They had personalized drink stirrers, cocktail napkins and acrylic cocktail place cards.

Choosing the Venue
“We knew Mallard was our only choice the moment we toured,” says Lindsey. “We loved the waterfront views, boathouse chapel, and gorgeous bridal suite to get ready for our day. The staff, especially our event planner, Gianna, were absolutely amazing.”

“We also loved being able to stay at the venue the night of the wedding with our family and close friends,” says Lindsey. “It made the day unforgettable to have that time with them.”
Favorite Moment
“My favorite moment was the after party with all of our closest friends,” says Lindsey. “We have had the same friends since we were young and we are the first of our friends to get married. It was so special to share this weekend with them, have them in our bridal party, and celebrate our love with the people who were with us the entire journey.”

Detail You Couldn’t Live Without
Lindsey loved that their ceremony tied in both of their religions.
“We wanted to have both Catholic and Jewish representation and I think we captured that perfectly in our interfaith ceremony. We had readings and prayers from both traditions and even had our parents come up and share in the exchange of the rings.”

Wedding Day Attire
The bride wore the Nirvana gown from Galia Lahav’s couture collection from the NYC flagship. She also wore Manolo Blahnik Hangisi heels and her grandmother’s diamond earrings. The bridesmaids wore various styles of sage gowns from Billy J.

The groom wore a Jack Victor tux from Rothmans in NYC with Boss patent leather shoes. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos from Prima Tuxedos.

Advice For Other Couples
“Put a lot of thought into the vendors you hire and do your research,” says Lindsey. “Make sure you hire people you can trust, who are experts, and will help guide the way to the day you envision.”
“Our photographer especially made the day seamless by coordinating with our venue to create a customized timeline and photo shot list for the day.”

Honeymoon
We left for Rome, Italy the Monday after our wedding. We planned an 8 day trip to Rome & Sorrento, spending the first three nights in Rome and then traveling to the coast.

In Rome, we stayed at the five-star Rome Cavalieri. We toured the Colosseum, Vatican, and Pantheon. In Sorrento, we stayed at the Grand Royal Hotel. We took a day trip to Capri, went to a cooking class, and beach clubs.
