“I wanted everything about the day to be romantic, soft and elegant. There were candelabras, candlelight, blush pink and gold. We put a little bit of a vintage twist on the decor with white washed items to mix in with the bling and metallic feel.”
“My dress was definitely a princess gown and I loved every minute of wearing it! Getting married at my high school’s chapel was very sentimental and important to me. Chris and I met at Rutgers so it was important for us to incorporate some RU gear into the “tailgating station” (sliders and fries!) at our cocktail hour.”
“Instead of having florals line the church aisles at our ceremony, we opted for framed pictures of ourselves, with baby pictures closest to the alter progressing through the years. It was personal and different.”
Your favorite part:
“We both loved dancing all night long to the incredible live music! It was so important for us to have a band to keep everyone on the dance floor…and it was packed all night!”
If you could change one thing about your wedding what would it be?
“Nothing! It was an amazing day! One of the best decisions we made was to extend our reception by an hour…we wanted as much dancing as possible and that is what we got!”
Advice for other brides:
“Be as present as you can throughout the day. It goes by so fast you have to consciously appreciate every minute!
Also, take some quiet time alone to process the day ahead before you start to get ready. I went on a walk by myself in the morning and it was so calming and special. Take time to reflect, think and get excited!”
