Gift that I gave to Vinnie on the morning of our wedding day was cuff links with a picture of him and his father in them. I knew that he wished his dad could be there that day but we knew he was there in spirit.
Vinnie gave me a Kate Spade “mrs” necklace and a box of Venus Et Fleur white roses that last a year! They smelled amazing and I get to look and smell them everyday !We didn’t have our guest sign a guest book we had a engagement photo of us blown up on canvas and had our guests and family sign that. Why did you choose your venue?Â
We choose South Gate Manor because they did one wedding at a time! Also their Extravagant Venetian Hour was just amazing and the food was great!!! They were so accommodating at making my guests feel so welcomed and my family!
We had some people that had food allergies that they accommodated in helping them! The staff at South Gate really went above and beyond!!!! I highly recommend them!
What was on your menu Our cocktail hour was amazing with italian stations, antipast, pasta station (they lit a cheese wheel on fire and you would pick what type of pasta you wanted, seafood stations, asian station which included sesame chicken/ veg stir fry/ lo mein/ sweet and sour pork.
Our cake we did a traditional white cake with chocolate frosting…Our Venetian hour was just out of this world ! We had cotton candy, soft pretzels, fried oreos, candy apples, milkshakes and a breakfast station for breakfast sandwiches and omlets! It was truly amazing! Our menu was:
Salad: Fresh Tomato/mozz over mixed greens with balsamic dressing
choice of Penne Vodka or Pancetta RisottoOur guests had a choice of 5 entrees!
stuffed chicken breast with spinach mozz & prosciutto in a mushroom cream sauce
Pecan encrusted Salmon
Pork Chop Milanese
Prime Rib
Eggplant ParmSouth Gate gave Vinnie and I all 5 entrees for dinner that night.
All about your gown! David Tutera it was all lace and had details all over it…I didn’t think I would ever want lace! I thought I wanted tulle and dramatic and I tried on about 10 dresses and they made me look so big! Then the lace just hugged my shape in all the right places, I just knew this was the one! It was scary at first because you envision yourself in something else, but you just have to go with what works for you!
What was your favorite moment? My favorite moment has to be seeing Vinnie at the first look ! He looked so handsome! He can wear a tux anytime he wants! It also would be just coming back to our apartment putting sweats on and eating all the left overs that South Gate Manor boxed up for us! & we also ate a lot of Krispy Kreme Donuts too!
One detail you couldn’t live without? Videographer! I’m so happy that we hired someone for that – at first people told me it was a waste of money but I’m glad I didn’t listen! Now we both can enjoy and relax and watch what a wonderful day/night that was! It’s something to relive! So happy that we made that decision !
Did anything go wrong? NOPE! And if it did I didn’t even notice!
First dance song? “Can’t take my Eyes off of you” by Frankie ValliWe took lessons at Arthur Murray in Red Bank and they choreographed a dance for us! It was a hit! We started out just swaying and then went into a dance, I didnt want to be like a lot of couples just stay up there and sway. I wanted it to be enjoyable! Our guests still talk about it till this day!
Any advice for future brides? Just relax and enjoy every moment! You can’t control everything! I remember getting so stressed out over nothing! The day flies by and you really just need to take it all in and enjoy it! In the end all that matters is you & him
