How did you meet?
Courtney and Charlie met during their freshman year at Fordham University, back in 2013. They were both enrolled in the same Composition II English class. Charlie strategically leveraged the class as an opportunity to interact with Courtney through casual banter and group studying. Even after the class concluded, Courtney and Charlie continued to see each other and really enjoyed spending time together, sharing a close friend group that helped join them in celebrating their special day.

How did you get engaged?
Charlie proposed in Gramercy Park on February 29th, 2020. As soon as Charlie got down on one knee it began to snow! As if the surprise of an engagement wasn’t enough, Charlie surprised Courtney with their family at a nearby restaurant and ended with friends joining for a night of cheers at the Gramercy Park Hotel!

Details of the day!
The vision of Courtney and Charlie’s wedding was classic with a modern twist. From their custom “CL” monogram to acrylic signage, their details were unique and beautifully executed. The neutral color palette of white, cream, blush and touches of gold added to Park Chateau’s airy venue. Blooming floral arrangements of traditional light-colored flowers, an abundance of candles and custom chiffon chair sashes created a dreamy atmosphere their guests couldn’t forget.

Why did you choose your venue?
Courtney’s mother found Park Chateau in a bridal magazine and was immediately drawn to the gorgeous gardens and grande ballroom. The couple was married at St. Paul’s in Princeton, New Jersey, and Park Chateau was the perfect location for their guests to wine, dine,and dance the night away. Courtney and Charlie wanted their guests to be immersed in an experience and Park Chateau allowed everyone to feel like they were part of a real-life fairy tale.

What was on your menu?
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed 16 stations throughout the estate offered appetizers including sushi, a Tomahawk steak carving station and Italian meat towers. After entering the grande ballroom, entrées of filet mignon, stuffed chicken and salmon were served. Guests enjoyed the various bars with signature cocktails, a martini bar with ice sculpture, and trays of espresso martinis were served to all with dessert. The couple’s gorgeous cake created by My Daughter’s Cake was a showstopper. Guests could choose from three flavors: blueberry is for lovers, French crumb cake with blueberry custard buttercream and blueberry compote cha-cha chai; dark chocolate cake with chai marscapone filling my main squeeze; and French vanilla cake with light lemon curd custard buttercream.

All about your gown!
Courtney’s mother, Cathy, has been her personal stylist since day one. Cathy has always been the one to find Courtney the most perfect dresses for every occasion, and her wedding dress was no exception. Cathy found this Eve of Milady dress while searching online for wedding dress styles in the spring of 2020. Given it was the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, Krystyne of L&H Couture was able to get this specific Eve of Milady dress brought into her store for Courtney to try on. As soon as Courtney slipped into this full A-line gown with hand-beaded details she proclaimed it was “her dress” and there was no turning back! Of course, Cathy knew that would be “the one” from the moment she picked out the gown for her daughter.

What was your favorite moment?
The couple’s favorite moment of their day was their Catholic church ceremony. As soon as Courtney met Charlie at the end of the aisle, there was a strong beam of sunlight casting over the couple. Courtney and Charlie were married by Monsignor Casper Furnari who also married Charlie’s parents in 1987. Courtney and Charlie worked very closely with Deacon Frank Crivello and Monsignor Furnari to select every reading, song and religious tradition to create a very personal mass to confirm their marriage. The beautiful hour-long Mass captured everyone’s attention and was an exceptional way for Courtney and Charlie to begin their next chapter together.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
One detail Courtney and Charlie couldn’t have lived without was their band, Jellyroll from BVT Live. The band had the dance floor filled all night long. People of every age were dancing and singing to every song, and Courtney actually didn’t step off the dance floor the entire reception! Jellyroll was amazing and provided unmatched energy that made the room electric all night.

Did anything go wrong?
Truthfully, no. Courtney and Charlie embraced every event of the day and lived in the moment to ensure they capture as much of the day as they could. Their relaxed attitudes and the smiles plastered on their faces all day were contagious and made everyone feel the special love between them. When asked to describe their wedding, the couple says, “It was one big party with our favorite people in one room. There was an indescribable amount of love, happiness, and joy.”

First dance song?
Charlie selected their first dance song, “Perfect,” by Ed Sheeran. Charlie and Courtney felt it captured their love story perfectly.

Any advice for future brides?
Courtney’s advice to other brides is to enjoy the planning process and all the special moments leading up to the wedding. Your wedding is one day, but the planning and the time that goes into creating how you want your day to feel creates memories that will last a lifetime. From the dress and tux fittings, food tastings, song selections and much more, these tasks create laughs and smiles among two families getting ready to become one on the wedding day. Honeymoon location:
Courtney and Charlie spent two weeks in Maui at the Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons resorts after their wedding.
