Details of the day: Steve and I were both born and raised in Morris County, New Jersey. So, when we began to plan our wedding, we wanted it to be a true representation of this great state. When we saw The Ryland Inn we knew it was the perfect way to show our out of state guests the beauty of The Garden State. We also used all local vendors in order to achieve this vision. We wanted the day to be celebratory and fun while also honoring wedding traditions. As we were married on the Summer Solstice, we wanted the day to be light and airy and a true celebration of our union. I wore an ethereal Reem Acra gown that was perfect for the day. The bridesmaid dresses complemented my dress with their tulle and light and airy feel. The groomsmen’s summer suits were the perfect way to make them feel both handsome and comfortable. There was no color scheme for the wedding, rather we used seasonal florals that accented the beauty of the venue and people. We celebrated all day and made perfect use of the longest day of the year!
Your favorite part: While planning the wedding we had many times said we did not want a “Sweet Heart” table. Well, we ended up having one and it was the best choice. Looking out onto the room with all of our family and dearest friends was a truly beautiful sight.
Advice for other brides: Pick the most important aspects of the wedding and spend your money there. We were so glad to have made the investment into an amazing big band as we wanted to be dancing all night long – and we did!
