Connor & Brittany

Brittany and Connor tied the knot on June, 28, 2025, at Cross and Orange.

Their Story

They met on Bumble in Jersey City, just a mile apart, and from the beginning being together felt easy and calm.

Brittany and Connor started dating and quickly discovered how much they had in common—whether it was hunting down great restaurants, sharing old songs, or even a mutual love of soup.

The Proposal

Connor popped the question in their favorite Jersey City park, Van Vorst Park, right beside a beautiful water fountain.

“He tried to play it cool and keep it a surprise, but I had my suspicions,” says Brittany.

“My sister was secretly there to capture the moment, and afterwards Connor swept me off to a small family celebration at the restaurant where we’d had our very first date.”

Choosing the Venue

They knew they wanted Asbury Park from the start—”it’s a place we both grew up going to and have always loved for its energy and atmosphere,” says Brittany.

When it came to the wedding, they pictured something that felt more like a casual family party than a formal sit-down event, with both indoor and outdoor spaces for guests to enjoy. Cross & Orange was the perfect fit.

“We loved the cozy vibe, the thoughtful decor, and the fun, pass-around cocktail style format,” says Brittany. “Having already enjoyed dinner and brunch there, we knew the food would be incredible. And the staff, who were attentive and welcoming from the very beginning, made the whole experience even more special.”

Details of the Day

They wanted the day to feel laid-back and organic and they chose colors they loved for each element—the flowers, the suits, the bridesmaid dresses, the signage and the drink menus.

“Each piece had its own personality, but when it all came together, the mix of tones and textures looked beautiful and effortless,” says Brittany.

Favorite Moment

Their favorite moment was their first dance. Instead of going the traditional slow-dance route, they chose an upbeat, soulful jazz version of “Your Song” that set the tone for something fun.

“We took lessons at Arthur Murray in Manalapan, where they choreographed a dance that felt playful, unique, and perfectly us,” says Brittany.

“Some of our favorite photos from the whole day are from that first dance—it was joyful, energetic, and such a memorable way to kick off the celebration.”

Wedding Day Attire

Brittany wore a dress by Jenny Yoo, which she found at the flagship store in Manhattan.

To make it her own, Giana Scanelli in Lincroft added custom drapey sleeves that gave the dress a romantic touch for the ceremony. Later, Brittany was able to remove them for the reception so she could dance comfortably.

Connor wanted a linen-blend suit in just the right shade of green, something lightweight for summer but polished enough that it wouldn’t wrinkle. “He also worked with Giana, and she brought his idea to life perfectly,” says Brittany. “His suit turned out exactly as he had pictured.”

The bridesmaids wore seaglass dresses from Birdy Grey.

Advice For Other Couples

“My advice for couples would be to plan the wedding together as much as possible,” says Brittany. “Some of the most special parts of our day came from the fact that both of us were equally involved in shaping it.”

“Our guests told us the wedding felt so authentically ‘Brittany and Connor,'” she adds, “and I think that’s because we both poured our hearts into every detail. We each had ideas we cared about, and while there were moments of compromise, those choices made the day feel balanced and perfect for both of us.”

“Looking back, the process of planning together was just as meaningful as the wedding itself—it gave us a chance to dream, problem-solve, and celebrate as a team before the big day even arrived,” she says.

Honeymoon

The newlyweds honeymooned in Riviera Maya, Mexico, and had an absolute blast.

The highlight was a private cooking class in Playa del Carmen, where they learned local recipes and got to enjoy the experience together.

“Beyond that, we kept things simple and focused on what we needed most: relaxing, unwinding, and soaking it all in after so many months of planning,” says Brittany.
