Elizabeth and Anthony tied the knot September 22, 2023 at the Park Savoy Estate in Florham Park. The couple originally met in Philadelphia, where Elizabeth had just moved to attend nursing school.
“I signed up for the Match app as a joke because one of my best friends in nursing school encouraged me to, since we didn’t have much time to go out and meet people,” she says, adding that she “almost canceled the date night on him! We hit it off immediately and the rest is history.”
Anthony proposed at sunset on the boardwalk at Disney World, one of the couple’s favorite places.
“As soon as we stepped in the doors from our first tour until the end of our wedding night, we felt like family,” Elizabeth says. “The staff, mansion, gardens and chapel are just spectacular.”
They also liked the venue’s ability to host both the ceremony and reception on site.
The couple’s vision of a vintage, romantic, elegant and timeless vibe came to life throughout the space. Florals were white and blush roses with hydrangea and greenery. Entertainment-wise, they had keys and violin for the ceremony, sax and keys for cocktail hour, and a percussionist and sax player with the DJ for the reception.
Other touches included a custom monogram, a life painter who captured their first dance, a cigar bar for the last two hours of the reception, and marquee letters from Alpha-Lit.
Their cocktail hour lasted for an hour and 15 minutes, “which gave our guests plenty of time to enjoy all the delicious food,” says Elizabeth. EntrĂ©e choices consisted of the grouper ala zarco, Chateaubriand, chicken ala savoy, or an eggplant tower for vegetarians. For dessert, they had a full Viennese hour, plus a four-tier custom cake by My Daughter’s Cakes, with three different flavors (coconut cake with toasted coconut buttercream, German chocolate cake with strawberry buttercream, and French vanilla cake with whiskey affogato buttercream.
Ever since she was a little girl, Elizabeth wanted a wedding gown with sleeves, “especially after the Royal Wedding of William and Kate and seeing Kate Middleton’s gown.”
“While shopping for a wedding gown, I told the consultant I wanted a gown with sleeves and described it as ‘Kate Middleton with a little bit of Jersey sass.’ The Demetrios gown I chose was just that,” she says.
The gown came unlined and without sleeves, but Demetrios added custom sleeves and lined the bodice. Elizabeth bought her dress at Aleana’s Bridal in Paramus.
Then, for the reception, “I knew I wouldn’t be able to fully dance in my Demetrios gown, so what did I do? I went to the bridal store of all bridal stores because I knew they would have the look I was going for, for party time.” She chose a Pnina Tornai “party” gown with ruffles, sequins and beading.
“My favorite moment was the first look with Anthony. I will never forget how I felt in this moment.”
The flowers by Cozy Style Living, “which truly made our decor and vision come to life,” says Elizabeth.
“Always remember that your wedding is about you and you future husband and nobody else. Enjoy every second, even the planning process. It is such a special time and you will never get to do it again, so embrace every single little feeling and moment.”
The couple honeymooned at Walt Disney World’s Beach Club Resort.
