Elijah & Corrine

Corrine and Elijah tied the knot at Everly at Railroad in Tuckahoe on May 17, 2025.

Their Story

For Corrine Whiter and Elijah Hampton, sparks first flew on a friends’ trip to Toronto to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

In their early days of dating, these avid travelers took road trips to Boston, upstate New York, Baltimore and Nashville—where they grew closer with every mile.

“I knew I was going to marry him because we traveled so well together,” says Corrine.

The Proposal

The couple planned a summer 2023 getaway to Charleston, South Carolina.

Unbeknownst to Corrine, Elijah was making arrangements for an unforgettable proposal—even going so far as to arrange for a professional photographer to pose as their Uber driver for the night!

But when their flight was canceled, Elijah and Corrine quickly pivoted to a trip to the Wharf in Washington, D.C., vowing to make the best of the rest of the vacation.

Elijah popped the question in the privacy of their hotel room, with his iPhone recording so they could remember it forever. It wasn’t the night he planned, but it turned out to be one of the best nights of their lives.

Details of the Day

The couple instantly fell for Everly at Railroad, a modern-rustic venue in a historic village along the Tuckahoe River in Cape May County.

A self-described “Type B” bride, Corrine credits Pinterest for shaping a storybook garden vision for their May 17, 2025, wedding.

Each of her six bridesmaids wore mismatched pastel gowns in buttery yellow, baby pink, coral, pastel purple, sage and sky blue.

Tables bloomed with ivory, peach and blush roses, lavender delphinium, purple larkspur, coral snapdragons, airy Queen Anne’s lace, eucalyptus and feverfew daisies.

Colorful goblets, floral napkins and multihued bud vases added country-vintage charm.

Wildflower seed packets embroidered with “let love grow” served as the favors. Corrine still receives photos of the homegrown blooms from guests.

Wedding Day Attire

Corrine found the perfect “whimsical fairy” gown. A crown, pink-and-green floral veil and Christian Louboutin heels completed the look.

Menu Highlights

Guests enjoyed empanadas, bacon-wrapped scallops, cheesesteak egg rolls and grilled cheese during cocktail hour, followed by grilled salmon, top-round beef, chicken Milano and penne alla vodka.

The biggest crowd pleaser? The late-night hot dog station!

Advice For Other Couples

“Make the bold decisions,” Corrine says. “Take the hits as they come, work with your partner, and always seek resolution.”
