How did you meet?
We met when we were kids, about 10 years old, through mutual friends. We lost touch for many years and then reunited at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut where we both attended college.
How did he ask?
We had a trip planned to visit San Francisco and Napa. Michael knew this would be the only way to truly surprise me since I planned the whole trip to a T!
Details of your day
We were recommended Crystal Plaza by a friend who’s daughter got married there. The second we saw the grounds, rooms, and met with Max we knew it was the perfect place. The staff is amazing and we knew the service would be phenomenal for our guests. We loved the unique food presentations and the look of the grand ballroom. We loved the “homey” feeling of the cocktail hour. Our point person was Max – he’s the best!!!
What was on your menu?
The food was absolutely incredible. We selected the sushi, we love sushi and eat it regularly. We selected the raw seafood bar – a big hit for guests. Meatballs because we’re Italian and love meatballs. A pasta station – we love pasta. Guacamole station because the groom’s father loves guacamole. Martini station – groom loves martinis. Fish taco station – bride loves fish tacos. Mac and cheese- because we love that as well.
In the ballroom – we had the cod, chateau Briand, and chicken gran mariner- all top notch options that we wanted for our guests.
What was your favorite moment?
Our grand entrance into the reception followed by our first dance with everyone we love watching us.
Did anything go wrong?
Nothing!
Favorite detail?
We had a special tribute dance to our grandparents and groom’s uncle in heaven. We danced with our parents and grandparents as we watched the screen of photos of those in heaven. We used some white orchids in the centerpieces because those are the bride’s deceased maternal grandmother’s favorite flower.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Moorea and Bora Bora in the French Polynesia.
