Details of the day: A New Years Eve wedding – what more can I say? We had the most perfect romantic party ready to go. We had high expectations of our night, as did our guest. It all started out with getting dressed at the Westin. There were gorgeous views from the minute we woke up. My dress was the first dress I tried on but came back to it after 25 other fails. It was the most perfect combination of fun and romantic. I had a vision and it all came to life: from tasteful sequin tablecloths to the photo booth to candles everywhere and no flowers.
Our Rabbi bar mitzvah’d my husband and has known his family since he was a baby. It was a great combination of funny and romantic and serious. We had a true NYE party from the band to the NYE hats, horns and crowns, and the dancing was out of control. The band was more than I could have ever imagined! To end the night we had Gorilla Grilled Cheese Truck handing out grilled cheese and tomato soups on the way to the bus. It truly was everything and more. I couldn’t have done it without the help of my parents and husband! Not only that, but we continued the party at the Westin bar where we partied way into the hours of the morning! I can go on and on but there were just so many perfect parts of our day.
Your favorite part: My most favorite part of the night was midnight! Since it was New Year’s Eve we just looked at each other and knew this year we were starting our new life together, as we kissed the fireworks started going off from the Statue of Liberty. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The whole wedding went out on the balcony to watch the fireworks.
Advice for other brides: A friend gave me advice to take a step back during the reception and take it all and we did exactly that. Look around and see that all your family and friends are there for you. It is an amazing feeling. I know everyone says the night goes so fast and it goes faster than I could have imagined. So happy I took the advice to take a step back with my husband and look around!
