How did you meet?
We first met in 2016 playing a bizarre 30-minute contemporary piece for saxophone, piano, and percussion by Vinko Globokar. My teacher of many years put the group together, so Andrew had never worked with me before. The piece had him playing two saxophones at the same time while he also had cymbals attached to his knees. I had to not only play piano, but also blow a whistle and throw assorted materials (books, chains, etc) inside the piano. One of my first memories of Andrew is actually watching him coming into the rehearsals with million bags and carrying 3 saxophones on his back! We became friends after that and soon started hanging out. For our first date, we went to the contemporary museum in Boston and finished the night with craft cocktails.

How did you get engaged?
I was completely surprised by the proposal! We had long been planning to go see the new opera production at the MET in NYC, and Andrew suggested we make it an elaborate date night, with an afternoon at the museum, and dinner at the Daniel. At the museum, he led me to a painting by Anselm Kieffer, who inspired the piece we played when we first met and got on one knee. I was so overwhelmed with emotions that the rest of the night was a blur, and I was still in shock when we arrived at dinner and the opera afterward.

Details of the day!
Our wedding was inspired by natural, soft colors, elegant, musically-oriented. Jaclyn from The Proppy Shoppe came up with the idea of using old wooden music stands at the entrance as a nod to us both being musicians. Wedding Inspiration: Our mutual love for chocolate led us to give each of our guests a chocolate heart as a favor to take home with them!

Why did you choose your venue?
We loved the overall character of our venue! The chandeliers in the Coach House are so unique and beautiful.

All about your gown!
I fell in love with the beading and the front cut of the dress. Due to COVID, I had to go to the appointment by myself, but the moment I put on this dress, I knew it was the one!

Any advice for future brides?
Give yourself time to plan, and pick great wedding vendors! Trust the professionals and their advice, and don’t be afraid to ask a lot of questions.

Honeymoon Location
We are going to Italy – Rome, Florence, and Venice, with a stop in Verona for one night to hear some Italian opera!
