How did you meet?
David and I met while we were both in college. We studied the same major and had many mutual friends. Eventually, we started working together on projects and getting to know each other. As time passed, we kept in touch and started seeing each other and officially dating!
How did you get engaged?
David proposed to me during a going-away party at my parents’ house. We were less than one week away from moving to North Carolina and it was definitely a surprise! He popped the question by a cherry-blossom tree in front of my parents’ house. It was a nice Spring day with just the two of us alone outside in that moment.
Details of the day:Â
The theme of our day was Winter Wonderland. Our colors were blues, creams, whites and peach. The flowers were an assortment of hydrangea and roses. For our favors, we had mints that we got off Etsy.
Why did you choose your venue?
We chose the Park Savoy Estate because we loved the grand atmosphere and floor-to-ceiling windows. We loved how open and airy everything looked. We loved the on-site bridal suite and groom suite. They even have a cigar room! We really wanted to have everything in one place and definitely got lucky with Park Savoy. We also love their new addition, the chapel!! It is stunning and the views from inside the chapel are gorgeous.
What was on your menu?Â
For our wedding we had options of Chilean sea bass, double-roasted garlic breast of Chicken, Chateaubriand with caramelized shallots in a Cabernet sauce or roasted vegetable strudel. Our cake was chocolate with strawberry cream filling (first tier), chocolate with chocolate cream filling (second tier) and chocolate with cannoli cream filling (third tier).
All about your gown!
My wedding gown was purchased at Kleinfeld. The designer of my dress is a polish designer named Vanilla Sposa. The dress is from her 2020 collection. I loved the ivory, off-white color. The lace throughout the top and bottom of the dress is beautiful. You can tell that the dress was made with so much love and care.
What was your favorite moment?
My favorite moment was getting ready in the morning with my girls and the first look! It was so much fun getting ready together and blasting music in the bridal suite. We had breakfast together while dancing around in our morning robes! After I put on my wedding dress, I went to see my husband standing outside waiting for me. I will never forget the joy I felt to finally hug him and see each other for the first time on our wedding day. It was a very special moment for us.
One detail you couldn’t live without?
At the end of the day, we wanted to share our wedding day with close family and friends. This was the most important thing to us, and the details became less important.
Did anything go wrong?
No thank goodness! Our wedding coordinator, Nicole, did a great job making sure everything was set up and packed away before and after the wedding. She communicated with all of the vendors and helped make the wedding day as seamless and stress-free as possible!
First dance song?
“Stand by Me,” by Skylar Grey.
Any advice for future brides?
Take a moment to pause and enjoy your wedding day. The day itself will go so fast and you should really pause with your husband and enjoy this time together as the start of a new chapter in your love story.
Honeymoon location:Â
We are still planning! We are looking into resorts in Key West, Florida.
