How did you meet?
YEARS ago, I used to work for a bank that was in our town, and he was a customer there as he and his father owned their own business. One day, I decided to let him know (at this point we have not said a word to each other, just stares, as his father would always be the one driving and doing the transactions) that I thought he was a very good-looking guy! He said the feeling was mutual! At that time, I was single and not looking for anyone. I was not in a rush but also wasn’t opposed to meeting someone. Guys/relationship were not a priority for me. He came back the next day through the teller window and slipped a note and asked me out! The rest is history.
How did you get engaged?
On our 5-year anniversary, we made plans to go horseback riding through the country near where we live and have an outside picnic by all the horses and animals. Before our picnic lunch, he got down on one knee and proposed! I said YES.
Details of the day!
Our wedding was a small, more intimate wedding, exactly the way we always imagined it. We did not have the traditional wedding party (and no maid of honor or best man) as it was only Colby and I. But we spent the day with our closest family and friends and it couldn’t have been any better!
One of my favorite wedding day details were my wedding paper goods that I custom created. It was SO much fun, although I will say it is always harder to create for yourself! Everything came out perfect. Another one of my favorite moments of our wedding was saying “I DO” at our ceremony.
We chose the “Pantone Marsala Flower Pack” from Blooms by the Box because it was the PERFECT color palette and the flower choices were gorgeous. I DIYed our florals and all arrangements, centerpieces, etc. for the event. I also created my bouquet and my husband’s boutonniere.
Why did you choose your venue?
It was a mixture of old-world feels with vintage romantic vibes.
What was your favorite moment?
We had a smaller, more intimate wedding reception, exactly how we had envisioned it. It was perfect. I don’t think I have ONE favorite moment, as every second of that day were all my favorite moments.
All about your gown!
It is Allure Couture Bridal C341. Allure wedding dresses are all about the details: beadings, dramatic backs, and perfect draping. My dress featured beaded lace from the waist up and the back. The bottom continued with (no beaded) lace, English net, and ivory satin underneath. The back was WHY I knew it was the one. I tried on 9 dresses that I had taken the time to find on my boutique’s website and had them pull for me at my appointment. This was the first dress I found in my search, I tried it on, and I just knew. The others were beautiful as well, but I could not wait to try this one on! It’s absolutely stunning with beaded buttons running all the way down my dress in a slim silhouette incorporating incredible texture and detailing. Everything about the back is perfect. I speak in present tense because I’m still in awe.
First dance song?
We chose (and FOUND on YouTube) an amazing violin cover of “Cant Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley played by iMusico.
Any advice for future brides?
Remain organized and check each item off the list one by one as you finish. Do not be all over the place, as this will create unnecessary chaos. Let’s not be dramatic!
