Alexis and Rob at The Tides Estate

How did you meet?
We first met one January day in 2015 at a local brewery. It was no accident that we kept running into one another. Whether it was karaoke at the bar or a friend’s occasion, we somehow found our way to each other repeatedly. We would soon take annual trips to Salem, MA, & add two dogs to the family (Fenix & Scout). The traditions wouldn’t end there. I made Rob watch The Wizard of Oz (“The Floz”) about 100 times, but he got me back by watching IT and flooding my fear of clowns. From bar hopping to funko pop collections.. to streaming & crafting, Rob decided it was time to make their relationship everlasting.

How did you get engaged?
I knew exactly the ring (and the man) I wanted. Rob took the screenshots of my dream ring along with my sister (Alyson) to make sure it matched the future bride’s vision. On October 19th, 2019 in Salem, MA, Rob asked me to marry him along the harbor at sunset. He finally got his “yes” to the one true question, “Are we going to do this, or what?”

Details of the day!
Our theme was subtle ways to enhance & personalize our gorgeous venue with our color scheme of purples & dark gray. Our ceremony in the garden & reception in the Grand Ballroom was nothing short of magical & our visions of purple & gorgeous florals really came to life with the help of our amazing florist Joann, from Blooming Brides Florist.

Why did you choose your venue?
After touring several venues, we took a tour of our venue, the Tides Estate. Not only did we love the ceremony garden but could not get over the amazing Grand Ballroom & delicious food. With accents of purple & amazing florals, we added pops of color to truly bring out the fall feels in the extravagant Grand Ballroom where our 200 guests enjoyed an amazing meal, great drinks, & lots of dancing.

All about your cake!
David’s Custom Cakes, truly made our dream cake come to life. From tasting, to review of design ideas, our 4 Tier Vanilla Wedding cake, had a layer of cannoli filling, a layer of fresh strawberry & banana & David’s Dulce de Leche. Each layer matched a different piece & layer of my wedding dress when it came to the beautiful tier designs.

All about your gown!
My gown was an Allure Couture gown, my experience at Brides by Young from start to finish was amazing. It was actually the last gown I tried on right before the end of my appointment, thanks to my amazing little sister, Alyson for insisting I at least try it on for her!

What was your favorite moment?
There were so many incredible moments throughout our wedding day, to say I had just one favorite would be a lie, but one of the funniest moments was when my husband surprised me with our ring “BEAR” that’s right a ring “BEAR” to present the rings during our ceremony (fans of How I met your mother will definitely appreciate this one). One of the most memorable moments for me was my first look with my now husband, that raw emotion & moment we shared is something I will treasure forever. The whole day was truly magical & the absolute best day of our lives so far!

One detail you couldn’t live without?
The authentic, funny, & genuine ceremony our future brother-in-law led. It was so personal, funny, and laid back, but still formal- It was truly PERFECT!

Did anything go wrong?
We were very fortunate to have nothing go wrong.

Any advice for future brides?
Enjoy every moment of the stressful planning and buying & take a moment to soak in your big day because it truly flies by!

Honeymoon Location?
Where we got engaged, Salem Massachusetts. It all came full circle!
