Alexa and Anthony at Perona Farms

How did you meet?
We met by chance, at a bar in Newburg NY! He was out with his friends and I was out with my sister when I spotted him from across the bar. I thought he was so handsome so I worked up the courage to go talk to him! We danced, we laughed, and ate tacos to end the night. Since then we’ve been inseparable.

How did you get engaged?
We got engaged on a sunrise hike at 5am! Anthony planned the whole thing and even had our parents hike the mountain in the dark to surprise us at the top with a special breakfast picnic. It was so beautiful and then we went to a sunflower field to take photos and meet the rest of our families for lunch.

Details of the day!
Our day was rustic and romantic! We picked colors that felt very boho but also had very end-of-summer vibes. I loved all our decor, it was vintage- my mom’s wedding bag, my grandma’s wedding veil, and my great-grandma’s wedding gloves.

Why did you choose your venue?
Our venue was picked because it’s farm-to-table and it’s so elegant. You don’t need a ton of decor to make it look nice, it’s beautiful on its own!

What was on your menu?
Our menu was all fresh farm-to-table food! We had an amazing cocktail hour filled with steamed buns, brick oven pizza and so much more! For dinner, we had a duet plate of fish or steak, and our guests left with a fresh donut for their departure home! They were stuffed to say the least!

All about your gown!
My gown took me several tries to find! I finally ended up at Seng Couture in Fanwood NJ and I fell in love the instant I put it on. It felt like me, very elegant with the flowers on the top and then a hint of spice with the slit up the leg!

What was your favorite moment?
My favorite moment was the ceremony. Being able to look into my partner’s eyes the entire time and listen to our personally written vows, sharing this special sacred time with our loved ones.

One detail you couldn’t live without?
The ceremony candle lighting ceremony, joining our families together as one.

Did anything go wrong?
No, everything went amazing! Better than I could have asked for or imagined.

First dance song?
Our first dance was a beautiful mash-up our DJ made!! We coordinated a full dance to it, it was amazing. It was 2 Ed Sheeran songs- Thinking Out Loud and Shape Of You, since we love to dance we wanted something extra fun to throw in there!

Any advice for future brides?
Soak it all in, the day goes by so fast! You blink and it’s over. Really take the time to enjoy and find gratitude for just how special the day is.
