Alessandra and Patrick at Willow Creek Winery

Patrick and I met in our college French class! He waited until the very last day to talk to me, but it was an instant connection.
Patrick proposed at Turdo Vineyards & Winery in Cape May. He invited my two best friends to go with us, and they took photos and video of the whole proposal. He also planned a surprise engagement party at my family shore house after the proposal. All our friends and family were waiting for us when we got there.
Our wedding style was “upscale garden party.” We really wanted to keep things soft and romantic throughout with rich colors and candles to compliment the beautiful backdrop. Since the wedding was at a winery in October, the main color was burgundy with blush and mauve as accents. Our event designer, House of Catherine, used our love of Dave Matthews Band by adding quotes in the signage and decor.
We started going to Cape May for day trips back in 2015 and quickly fell in love with all it has to offer. Our favorite pastime became visiting the wineries and Willow Creek Winery ended up being one of our favorites. We chose Cape May for our wedding because we wanted something a little different and we wanted our guests to experience our love for the shore town. We chose Willow Creek Winery because we did not want a typical ballroom. We absolutely fell in love with the vineyards and the charming estate feel of the venue.
We had a great cocktail hour with tons of passed appetizers including bacon wrapped scallops, crab stuffed mushrooms and flank steak and mushroom skewers. For entrees, we gave guests the option between filet mignon with merlot demi glaze, bronzed chicken stuffed with roasted red peppers and sharp provolone, or a vegetarian pasta primavera. Our cake flavor was cannoli.
I knew right away I wanted a Martina Liana gown. All of her dresses are absolutely gorgeous! I went to a trunk show at Bridal Garden in Marlton with one dress in mind but I tried on a completely brand new dress of hers and completely fell in love.
My favorite moment, by far, was the ceremony. Our favorite song played as I walked out of the double doors and down the aisle. We got married in front of the vines during the most incredible sunset, it was the most romantic moment of my life.
A great band! Our band actually played one of my best friend’s wedding and they were amazing. We weren’t even engaged at the time but we knew we had to have them play our wedding.
We thought we forgot the wedding bands. Lucky for us we had an amazing wedding planner who remembered them.

My advice for other couples is to make your wedding your own! We put tons of little details into our day such as quotes from Dave Matthews Band songs on signage, our dog’s illustration on cocktail napkins and naming our signature drink after our house!
