Reed & Nicole
Nicole and Reed got married on July 5, 2025, at Crystal Plaza.
Their Story
The pair matched on Hinge in late August 2021, but Nicole deleted the app almost immediately after.
“So when Reed messaged me, he assumed I was just ghosting him,” says Nicole. Instead of letting it go, he did some investigative work, reached out to a few mutual friend, and asked them to get in touch with Nicole.

Nicole received a message that basically said, There’s a very eligible bachelor looking for you. Please redownload Hinge. “I did, immediately,” says Nicole. “Within minutes we were messaging, and we planned our first date that same day.”

“But truly our story has felt like a fairytale from the start—simple, certain and full of joy,” says Nicole. “We met in September 2021, moved in together in November 2022, and got engaged in February 2024. From the beginning, it just made sense.”
The Proposal
“I’m notoriously bad at letting go of control, so poor Reed had his work cut out for him trying to surprise me,” says Nicole. He chose his dad’s birthday and told Nicole that they were heading to a family dinner.

“I was completely caught off guard when I saw the gorgeous proposal setup at the restaurant,” says Nicole. “To make it even more memorable, it happened on February 29. So now we’ll celebrate our engagement every leap year!”

Choosing the Venue
“The Crystal Plaza is quite literally in my blood,” says Nicole. “It’s a fourth-generation family business. My dad owns it, and my brothers, Max and Hunter, who also planned the wedding, are part-owners with him.”

“I grew up there,” says Nicole. “Every person who works there feels like family, and watching them produce the most spectacular day for me? It was overwhelming in the best way.”
“It is more than a venue, it’s my childhood, my roots, my whole heart.”
Details of the Day
“Our wedding was timeless, romantic and deeply personal,” says Nicole. “The color palette was soft and summery, with tones of butter yellow, ivory, blush and gold. Lush, organic floral arrangements filled the space—a dreamy mix of roses, peonies and ranunculus that created an atmosphere that felt both elegant and inviting.”

Beyond the design, the heart of the day was in the personal touches.
“I carried handwritten trinkets on my bouquet, little quotes my parents had said to me growing up, written in their own handwriting,” explains Nicole.
“We sewed a patch into my dad’s jacket with a photo of us when I was a baby that read, ‘forever daddy’s pretty little blue eyes,’ which is what he’s called me my whole life.”
“While getting ready, I wore a robe adorned with lace from my mom’s wedding dress.”

“The entire day felt like a family affair in the best possible way,” says Nicole.
“My brother Max officiated our ceremony, which was incredibly special, and both of our dads, my other brother Hunter, and Reed’s sister Blair gave the most beautiful, heartfelt speeches.”

One of Nicole’s favorite symbolic details: all of the groomsmen carried custom handkerchiefs made from her mom’s wedding gown as a sweet nod to her and the love she’s poured into the family.

Their late-night after party was diner-themed, inspired by the couple’s post-wedding tradition.
“Reed and I always grab diner food after weddings because we inevitably leave hungry, so we wanted our guests to share in that inside joke,” says Nicole. “We even mentioned it in our vows. It ended up being such a fun and meaningful way to close out the night.”

Detail They Couldn’t Live Without
Their private religious ceremony on July 4 was special.
“Just before sundown, we gathered in my family’s backyard to honor Shabbat and be married by my rabbi, Rabbi Mendel Soloman, who holds such a special place in our hearts.”
“It was intimate, spiritual and profoundly meaningful,” says Nicole. “Surrounded only by our immediate family, the moment felt sacred and still.”

“Before the celebrations and excitement of the weekend began, we had this quiet, grounding moment that was just ours,” says Nicole. “It set the tone for everything that followed and truly became the heart of the entire weekend. We’ll never forget it.”

Favorite Moment
“My favorite moment of the entire day was walking down the aisle and seeing everything we’d envisioned come to life,” says Nicole. “It was this surreal, full-circle feeling. The culmination of so much love, effort and anticipation.”

“Standing there, surrounded by our favorite people, and walking toward my new beginning with Reed waiting at the end, it was magic,” says Nicole. “I’ll never forget that mix of joy, calm, and pure gratitude.”
Wedding Day Attire
Nicole wore a custom gown by Lyn Kohl. “After trying on 57 dresses and never having that ‘this is the one’ moment, I decided to create it myself,” says Nicole. “Lyn designed the most breathtaking dress I’ve ever seen. It was timeless, elegant, and completely me.”

“She also designed my veil, which featured delicate, scattered butterflies in honor of my grandmother, who has always been symbolized by butterflies in our family.”
Reed wore a custom tuxedo by Duru, engraved with their wedding date and his signature on the sleeve.
He finished the look with onyx cufflinks gifted by Nicole’s parents and his late grandfather’s watch.

The groomsmen looked classic in sleek black tuxedos with bowties, while the bridesmaids wore a stunning mix of butter yellow, nudes and golds—a perfect palette for summer.
Advice For Other Couples
“Don’t lose sight of what the day is really about, which is the two of you,” says Nicole. “It’s so easy to get caught up in the details, but at the end of the day, no one will remember the font on your menus or the exact shade of the napkins.”
“They’ll remember how the day felt. Surround yourselves with people who lift you up, trust the process, and let go of the tiny things that don’t go exactly as planned.”

“Also, be present. Everyone tells you the day flies by, and it truly does. Take moments to pause and soak it all in. Look around the room, breathe it in, and remember that every single person is there because they love and support you. That’s the magic of it all.”
Lastly, Nicole adds, “Most importantly—don’t leave each other’s side!”

Honeymoon
Nicole is a luxury travel agent, so planning the honeymoon has been her dream project.
“We decided to wait until February so we’d have something incredible to look forward to once the post-wedding dust settled,” says Nicole.

“Southeast Asia was calling our name so we’ll be spending 16 days exploring the Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.”
