Matthew & Ashley
Ashley and Matthew wed at the Estate at Florentine Gardens on December 27, 2024.
Their Story
Ashley and Matthew met in Cancun on a company trip in February 2020.
“A glance across the room turned into a spark we couldn’t ignore,” says Ashley. “When the pandemic hit, distance kept us apart, but our bond only grew stronger. Through calls, laughter, and love, we built something lasting.”

The Proposal
Three years into their journey, Matthew planned the most unforgettable surprise in Spring Lake.
“A trail of rose petals led to glowing ‘Marry Me’ letters, while a violinist played our favorite Dan + Shay songs,” says Ashley. “Surrounded by beauty and meaning, he got down on one knee. It was intimate, thoughtful, and the perfect beginning to our forever.”

Details of the Day
Their wedding was a black-tie celebration of timeless elegance.
With a palette of black, white, and gold, the space glowed with candles, mirrored accents, and lush florals.
“Every detail reflected our vision of romance and sophistication,” says Ashley. “It was a night of love, light, and unforgettable memories.”
Choosing the Venue
“After visiting countless venues, none captured our hearts like The Estate at Florentine Gardens,” says Ashley. “Its modern elegance, timeless charm, and newly renovated spaces were everything I envisioned.”

“What truly set it apart was the warmth of their family-owned team, unmatched hospitality, and unforgettable celebration.”
Favorite Moment
“Our ceremony was held at dusk on a winter evening, lit entirely by candlelight,” explains Ashley. “I walked down a mirrored aisle with my father as live musicians played, creating a surreal, emotional moment.”
“Surrounded by stunning florals, we read our personal vows in a space that felt intimate, romantic, and unforgettable. It was our perfect beginning of forever!”

Detail They Couldn’t Live Without
“One detail we couldn’t have done without was our incredible vendor team,” says Ashley. “They brought our vision to life with care, creativity and heart.”

“A special thank you to Amanda from Amanda Rae Events. Her dedication and talent made our day unforgettable. We’re forever grateful for the dream team that made it all possible.”
Wedding Day Attire
Ashley wore a strapless Mikado silk gown with a cathedral-length train and buttons down the back from Castle Couture. Her veil had crystal-trimmed edges that sparkled softly.
Matthew wore a black velvet tuxedo from Biltmore.
“We both wore matching Louboutins, and our favorite accessories were a Rolex and a diamond tennis set we gifted each other,” she says.

Advice For Other Couples
“Don’t let the stress of planning take away from what really matters,” says Ashley. “Things might not go exactly as planned, and that’s okay. Focus on the reason you’re there which is to celebrate your love.”
“Also, Stick with your partner throughout the day. It goes by fast, and being together helps you take it all in. Enjoy the little moments, be present, and remember: this day is about the two of you.”
Honeymoon
The newlyweds kicked off married life with a magical winter mini-moon in Quebec, filled with snowmobiling and dog sledding.
Then, in September, they spent 10 days exploring Positano, Sorrento, Capri and Rome.
