Wildflowers, Apple Cider Donuts & an Espresso Martini Moment at Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm
Devlynn and Robby got married on October 18, 2025 at Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm. The NJ farm venue delivered everything she’d envisioned for her October wedding: a natural elegance that the in-house floral team translated into dusty rose, sage, terracotta and hints of deep red wine, with dahlias, ranunculus and wildflowers woven throughout. Guests were treated to elevated comfort food, house-made apple cider donuts as favors, and even a photo-op with Fancy the floral-adorned farm pony. But the night’s most unforgettable moment? A perfectly choreographed espresso martini send-off, LED bracelets included, that had everyone on the dance floor. Sara Fitz Co. captured it all.
Their Story
“We knew of each other through mutual friends and finally happened to be in the same place same time one night (at a dive bar lol). We instantly hit it off, decided we were besties, and before we knew it, we were Facetiming from the moment we woke up until we went to sleep at night,” says Devlynn.
“Less than a month later during a late night drive home singing together in his truck, we realized we were in love. Two years a dachsund puppy later, we are happily married and so grateful we ran into each other that summer night.”
The Proposal
“Everything I wanted!” says Devlynn. “My family rents a condo on the beach in Florida every year with a front row seat to the most amazing sunsets you’ve ever seen! My parents, now husband, and I went down to take ‘family photos’ one evening and my husband proposed during the most beautiful sunset on the beach. It was perfect.”
Choosing the Venue
“After seeing my Pinterest board, my husband actually suggested Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm. He’d seen it before and was confident it was exactly what I wanted. It was the first and only place we toured and we booked it the moment we laid eyes on it!”
Details of the Day
“The details of our day were thoughtfully curated and brought to life by the in-house floral team at Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm. After sharing my Pinterest board, they described our style as a blend of natural elegance and whimsical wildflower. We chose soft, pastel interpretations of classic fall tones like dusty rose, sage, terracotta and a hint of red wine. We had arrangements of roses, ranunculus, dahlias and simple local field flowers. Greenery, gold accents, and warm candlelight tied everything together. My bridal party wore mismatched dresses, each inspired by a different bloom found in my bouquet.”
“The menu focused on elevated comfort food. Guests enjoyed stuffed chicken with bacon and gouda over mashed potatoes, New York strip steaks, and a root beer–glazed double-cut pork chop that guests continue to rave about. Cocktail hour featured a Tuscan grazing table with meats and cheeses, seasonal fruits and vegetables, assorted flatbreads, and house-made breads and crackers. Our cake was timeless and understated, featuring a cream-colored base with delicate piping and tiny wildflowers in our fall pastel palette.”
“For favors, we leaned into the farm’s charm with their iconic apple cider donuts. Individually wrapped and displayed on a wooden tiered shelf on the outdoor patio, they were perfectly on theme!”
“To capture memories, we used After the Tone Audio Guest Book. Not only was authentic vintage phone perfect decor, but it was so fun for guests and so fun to get the voicemails back! We also rented a camcorder from The Wedding Weekender. You record clips throughout the day, ship it back, and they send you an edited video. We should be getting our video back any day now and I can’t wait. I actually grabbed the camcorder at the reception and zoomed around to get footage of everyone – perfect for me to say hello!”
“One of the most memorable touches was Fancy, one of the farm’s ponies, she had matching florals and was the sweetest photo-op for guests.”
Favorite Moment
“Espresso martinis for dessert!” says Devlynn. “One thing about our group is that everyone loves an espresso martini. We made this a whole moment. After dinner I went to change into my party dress. During this, servers passed around dozens and dozens of trays full of hand-crafted espresso martinis while my bridal party passed out LED bracelets.”
“I walked back into the venue in my new dress, met my husband for an espresso martini and LED bracelet, we quickly cut the cake and joined our guests on the dance floor. It was simply unforgetable and the moment I could finally relax.”
Another memorable moment was doing a first look with their puppy!
Wedding Day Attire
“I wore a Love by Pnina Tornai, #15103N,” says the bride. ‘The most beautiful dress I have ever laid eyes on!”
“My bridesmaids all wore a mix of chiffon dresses from Azazie, in a variety of fall colors to compliment my bouquet. My husband and groomsmen wore classic Calvin Klein black suits with terracotta ties.”
Advice For Other Couples
“Trust your vision and commit to it! Brides can face decision fatigue like no other because the possibilities are endless. Make your vision board and shop around but once you decide on something you like—make the commitment! It keeps everything moving along and keeps things you.”
Honeymoon
They went to Sandals Barbados for five nights. “The beaches are absolutely stunning. My biggest pro, and what I look for most in a trip, is a quick airport transfer to the resort! Less than a 30 minute drive once we boarded the shuttle. We booked a luxury catamaran excursion and it was the most memorable day.”
“We snorkeled with exotic fish, had an amazing day with a wonderfully hospitable crew, and ate the most amazing three-course meal prepared onboard. Our honeymoon was the perfect opportunity for us to rest and recharge.”
