A Shore Sunset & Boho-Chic Style at This Fall Wedding at Ocean Place Resort & Spa

Angela and Matthew’s October 24, 2025, wedding at Ocean Place Resort & Spa in Long Branch had a boho-chic aesthetic that came alive through a nature-inspired palette of burnt orange, sage, eucalyptus, matcha and pistachio, with organic textures and candlelight setting a relaxed, intimate tone against the backdrop of the Jersey Shore. Angela turned heads in a custom-sleeved Madison James gown from The Curvy Bride in Manalapan, while her bridesmaids wore a gorgeous mix of coordinating greens and burnt orange to echo the florals throughout. Kevin & Aly Photography captured every meaningful moment, including the deeply personal first look where the couple exchanged handwritten private vows before walking down the aisle.

Their Story

“Matt and I were just acquaintances in high school,” says Angela. “I always thought he was cute since he was the popular football star, but we went our separate ways after graduation.”

“In 2020, we both moved back home, and a lucky match on Hinge led to a first date that changed everything. Matt loves telling the story of the ‘three things I did’ that made him fall for me on the spot. While I playfully insist it is embarrassing, I secretly love that it was the moment he knew.”

“Since then, we have built a life of travel and milestones. After the rewarding experience of designing our first home together, saying ‘I do’ the following year felt like the perfect celebration of the life we have built. Now, we’re focused on checking more destinations off our travel list and enjoying our time as a duo before starting a family of our own.”

The Proposal

“Our engagement took place at the Manasquan Inlet in September 2023. What I thought was just a fun girls’ day began with a great brunch, blowouts at DryBar, and a trip to the inlet for some photos,” says Angela.

“I was completely caught off guard when I saw Matt standing there. In a funny moment of panic, I actually worried he was there to deliver bad news since I thought he was supposed to be with his friends. Those nerves quickly turned into pure joy as I realized what was actually happening. Everything finally clicked into place, and there was no doubt in my mind that this was the beginning of our forever.”

“After the proposal, we took photos on the sand and spent the rest of the evening celebrating at my parents’ house with all of our favorite people.”

Details of the Day

“For our wedding, we really wanted to capture that specific bridge between summer and fall. We chose a boho-chic style that felt right for a beach setting but still had that cozy autumn atmosphere,” says Angela.

“Instead of the typical bright beach colors, we went with a palette that felt more connected to nature. We used burnt orange as our main pop of color and paired it with different layers of green like sage, eucalyptus, matcha, and pistachio.”

“Our goal was to create a space that felt relaxed and genuine rather than overly formal. We focused on organic textures and warm tones to make the shore feel inviting and comfortable for all our guests as we celebrated this new chapter together.”

Favorite Moment

“Our first look was easily the most meaningful part of the whole day. Being alone with Matt before the ceremony was so special because it gave us a private moment to truly see each other. His reaction was incredibly sweet and genuine, and you can see in our wedding video just how much that moment meant to both of us.”

“We chose to share our private vows during this time, and promising each other everything forever in such an intimate setting was a profound experience. After all the planning and preparation, having him look at me with so much love made me feel truly seen. It was a quiet, sacred reminder of why we were there in the first place, and it is the memory I will hold onto most from our wedding.”

Wedding Day Attire

“I wore a gorgeous Madison James gown from The Curvy Bride in Manalapan, which I personalized with custom sleeves. Matt looked incredibly sharp in a custom tuxedo from ChazMaTazz Formal Wear in Princeton. His look featured thoughtful details like a deep burgundy lining and his initials stitched into the cuff of his shirt.”

“To bring our color palette to life, my maids of honor wore burnt orange while the rest of my bridal party wore a beautiful mix of greens including matcha, eucalyptus, and pistachio.”

Advice For Other Couples

“Throughout the planning process, always prioritize what makes you happy as a couple and stay on the same page with your partner. Keeping that focus on your connection makes the more personal moments even more meaningful,” says Angela.

“One of our most cherished traditions was hand-writing our vows in a book to exchange after the ceremony. I keep mine on my vanity now, and seeing Matt’s words every morning serves as a beautiful daily reminder of the promises we made. That same intentionality should carry into your honeymoon. Use it as a sacred time to decompress and reflect on how far your relationship has come. Those quiet moments are the perfect opportunity to talk about your goals and get truly excited for the future you are building together.”

Honeymoon

“We spent two incredible weeks exploring the beauty of Argentina. Our journey began in Buenos Aires, where we balanced our first few days between a luxury spa, historical walking tours, and a beautiful tango show. From there, we traveled to Mendoza to enjoy the mountain views and the incredible food and wine the region is known for.”

“For the second half of our adventure, we headed to the breathtaking landscapes of Bariloche in Patagonia. We stayed inside a national park and spent the week kayaking and taking in the scenery together. We finally ended our trip back in BA with one last unforgettable experience, a chef’s table tasting and wine pairing at Fogon Asado. It truly was the trip of a lifetime.”
