Avid snowboarder Nettie Mok was gliding down a mountain like she often does, except this time she was in a wedding dress.
At the end of the indoor ski slope at Big SNOW American Dream, part of the mall in East Rutherford, she’d walk down the aisle and marry Stanley Tang during the property’s first-ever wedding ceremony.
On October 10, 2025, the couple said “I do” in front of 80 guests. Their family and friends arrived at 8:30 pm (once Big SNOW was closed to the public) for catered food from places including Yard House and Hey Tea, both located in the mall.
Then, they gathered at the foot of the mountain for the ceremony. After the vows, the real fun began and lasted until 1 am.
Guests changed into their equipment to enjoy time on the slope. There were instructors to help anyone who was new to snowboarding and skiing.
As far as pulling off the feat of snowboarding in wedding attire, the couple had to prepare. Starting a few months before the big day, they went to Big SNOW to practice techniques. On their wedding day, the Tangs made snowboarding in wedding attire look easy, but Nettie had to hike up her floor-length dress so it wouldn’t get caught. Stanley wore a tux that was made of stretchy material.

Their Big SNOW wedding was one of three marriage celebrations. Nettie and Stanley, who live in Woodbridge, officially got married at Golden Seafood Restaurant in Edison on October 4. Then came their wedding at Big SNOW in mid-October. And in November, they hosted a third party in Hong Kong. Although they were both born in United States, they grew up in Hong Kong. They met on Hinge six years ago, and Stanley proposed in Hong Kong in October 2024.
But their Big SNOW wedding was the special day they had imagined. “Props to Big SNOW for making this happen,” says Nettie.
