Amanda and Tomas at Pleasantdale Chateau

Posted on March 11, 2020 by Ariana Baio

In Hoboken, NJ at Mills Tavern.

Tom had told me we were going to dinner with my family and as we were walking to the La Isla restaurant in Hoboken. My family called me and told me that there was something going on at the pier. Once we got closer, Tom had set up everything with roses and lit the pier up with candles. As we made our way to the end of the pier, he also hired a guitarist to sing “Grow Old with You” by Adam Sandler and he had a drone to capture the entire moment. He set up a heart surrounded in lights and its where he got down on one knee and proposed. Further down the pier both of our families watched and took pictures to capture the perfect moment. As we continued on the night, Tom also reserved Lulu’s at the W Hotel in Hoboken, for our families to come together and celebrate our engagement.

Details of the day!
Our wedding was a true fairytale. The colors of the wedding were white, black, blushes, dusty rose, champagnes. Our flowers by Twisted Willow were perfect – white with touches of blushes and very romantic. My bridesmaids were in a dusty rose/champagne colors, with all different dresses and all different materials. Tom’s groomsmen were in black but he was in a subtly patterned deep blue tux that looked black from Sal Lauretta. The reception was spectacular, there were three types of centerpieces – 1) Tree-like and higher 2) Candelabras wrapped in flowers 3) Lower, wider flower arrangements. Also the sweetheart table was just stunning with draping orchards and lit candles. There was candlelight up-lighting by JB Lighting Production and an amazing lighting monogram in the dome. The DJ, Tony, with our two instrumentalists were amazing. Tony from SCE is awesome! The Pleasantdale staff were extraordinary. Santiago and his team are super professional and did an amazing job with all the food and service. My wedding planner, Danielle, was a gift from above as the day wouldn’t have been as seamless without her or her team. Our first dance, which Tom choreographed himself was a highlight, our parent dances were highlights as we did voiceovers for both of them that brought them and our guests to tears, and the passing desserts instead of a Viennese hour was also a highlight. To end the night we had our bridal parties and guests do a sparkler tunnel for us to get a great picture outside!

We chose our venue because we truly felt like it was a castle, and we were inviting our guests to our chateau. We also loved the green room at the Pleasantdale Chateau. We also liked the fact that our guests could stay over right there at the venue.

For appetizers we had a New York wedge salad. For entrees, guests had the option of bronzino with basil herb puree, boneless braised short ribs, herb roasted chicken breast or a vegetable primavera risotto. For dessert, we had our wedding cake with passed assorted desserts and coffee.

My gown was from Bridal Reflections in NYC and it was custom made by Galia Lahav. I just loved how princess-like I felt in it without being in a ballgown. It was delicate since it was mostly tulle, glitzy with the extra sparkle tulle layer and appliqués we added, and romantic with the draping off the shoulder pieces we added. I also wore a headband/tiara head piece from Bridal Styles Boutique in Brooklyn, NY that just added the perfect touch to my look.

We truly loved every second of our wedding but I think some of the top moments were our first look, saying our own vows at the ceremony, our first dance, and our father/daughter and mother/son dances as we did a voice over for them in the beginning of each song. That was so special!

Saying our own vows at the wedding were truly special and very heartfelt. Also we were in love with our ceremony setting; the serene lake, the beautiful arbor with the hanging chandelier, and draping orchards, and all our family and friends around.

Not even the slightest everything was absolutely perfect.
