Honeysuckle Pink is the 2011 Color of the Year

Add a splash of Honeysuckle to your wedding and you'll be in the pink!

The color of the year for 2011 has just been announced, and it's Honeysuckle Pink! What a gorgeous shade for your wedding day...

Pink has always been one of my favorites, so when the Pantone company voted Honeysuckle as the must-have hue for this year, it brought a smile to my face.

This bold reddish-pink is quite flattering for maids, moms and flower girls because it gives the skin a healthy glow. And it's eye-popping as a complement to your bouquets, table linens and wedding cake.

"Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going...perfect to ward off the blues," says Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "The intensity of this festive reddish-pink allures and engages. In fact, this color, not the sweet fragrance of the flower for which it is named, is what attracts hummingbirds to nectar."

Check out Honeysuckle at dessy.com and you'll find a nice selection of special-occasion dresses in Pantone colors. And, for a measly 10 bucks, they'll send you a cool Pantone color guide with almost 200 shades to help you find and share your wedding colors with your bridal party and vendors!

Happy browsing,

Susan
