1. If your gowns are ready, you should have received a call from Nonchalance, and you MUST pick them up tomorrow...Friday, July 29, 2011, between 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. When I called the store, there's a message that says they will be contacting all customers this week. If you have not received a call, I would also go to the store on Friday to find out the status of your order.
2. If you ordered a Jim Hjelm, Alvina Valenta, or Lazaro Gown, Park Avenue Bridal in Verona will take care of it for you. Call Gary at 973-239-7111 and he will get it straightened out. Or you can call Jim Hjelm's customer service line (for all three designers) at 800-924-6475.
3. If you ordered from a designer other than the ones above, you can call your designer's customer service number and they will help figure out the status of your gowns. Designers and manufacturers absolutely hate when a retailer goes out of business. They are in the process of making your dresses and want you to receive them, so they will either send the gowns to a different retailer or may even ship to you directly. This needs to be figured out with your specific designer. If you need help tracking down a customer service number, let me know. And I've heard from a few brides that Dessy is shipping gowns directly to brides once they've been paid. Here's their customer service number if you ordered a Dessy, Lela Rose, or Cynthia Rowley bridesmaid gown: 646-638-9600.
4. If you're unsure of who your dress designer is, check your Nonchalance order form, which hopefully you kept. And hopefully you also paid by credit card, which will reimburse you for goods not received. I would pull up your credit card information just in case it becomes necessary.
As I find out more information, I'll let you know.
