The wedding’s over and you’re exhausted. After months of planning, you’ve danced the night away surrounded by family and friends, and are more than ready for the next chapter of your life to begin—your honeymoon. But for many couples, the honeymoon trip may not officially start until the next day.

Rather than staying at your parent’s, or your own house or apartment (ho-hum), get your honeymoon off to a fantastic start by going to a nearby luxury hotel or bed and breakfast. We’ve put together a list of some luxurious places in New Jersey that offer a range of pampering accommodations and amenities to help you unwind and rejuvenate in style.

The Southern Mansion in Cape May (609-884-7171; southernmansion.com) is a premier luxury B&B. This circa-1860 structure is located in the heart of the historic district on almost two acres of lush property, and features a wide range of spacious, opulent suites and guest rooms with modern amenities along with period furnishings. Rates include a full breakfast, afternoon refreshments, and off-street parking, as well as towels and chairs for those interested in visiting a nearby beach. According to owner Barbara Hamilton Bray-Wilde, couples can choose from a wide range of services through their Romance packages: rose petals on the bed, champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries, in-room couples massage, and a Cupola Dinner—a private five-course gourmet dinner at the top of the house, which offers a 360-degree view of the island. Concierge service can also arrange for transportation to the Atlantic City airport.

If you’re in the mood for breathtaking views with spacious upscale accommodations that are decorated in an Aspen-mountain theme, on-site gourmet restaurants, and an ultimate spa experience, then Crystal Springs Resort in Vernon (973-827-5996; crystalgolfresort.com) is the answer. Couples can unwind side-by-side with an Elemental Journey: a four-part, one-and-a-half-hour delight that includes a crystal salt scrub followed by cascading waterfalls of swirling mineral waters. Each luxury room sports a stone fireplace, a kitchenette, and a balcony with mountain, golf-course, or pool views. Seasonal Romance packages include king-size beds with options that include chilled champagne, chocolate, massages, wine tastings, and gourmet dinners.

For wine devotees, you might want to check into the Renault Winery Resort in Egg Harbor City (609-965-2111; renaultwinery.com), which features the romantic Mediterranean–style Tuscany House Hotel, nestled between the Vineyard Golf Course and the famed Renault Winery. Couples can indulge with a full six-course dinner, a scrumptious Tuscan brunch at Joseph’s—one of the vineyard’s gourmet restaurants—or tour the winery and sample a few varieties of Renault wine. Bridal suites include a Jacuzzi tub, glass shower, and a balcony overlooking the golf course. The resort is just ten minutes from the Atlantic City Airport and one hour from Philadelphia International Airport.
