Through the late seventies and early eighties, the Chanticler Château was considered one of the premier wedding facilities in the state. Nestled in the Watchung Mountains, it offered sweeping views, elegantly decorated ballrooms, and beautifully landscaped grounds.

Now, with a major renovation almost complete, the building will soon reclaim its status in the New Jersey wedding scene. Renamed Stirling Ridge, the facility features a stylish modern look with luxurious amenities, multifunctional indoor and outdoor space, and a renowned culinary team. The renovation involved tearing down walls, stripping floors, reconfiguring rooms, redesigning more than three acres of land, and completely updating its look.

Stirling Ridge features two separate venues, each with its own exclusive amenities and services, including bridal suites, bathrooms, valet parking, kitchens and culinary teams, and outdoor space. Inspired by its surroundings, Stirling Ridge brings in elements of nature using earth tones, hardwood flooring, stone and slate walls, and towering glass windows. The outdoor space is tastefully decorated with English gardens, meandering pathways, and even an outdoor fireplace.

The larger of the two facilities, the Grand Ballroom lives up to its name with sixteen-foot windows, high ceilings, and beautiful private gardens. Comfortably seating up to 300 guests, the room has no permanent obstructions, allowing couples to design the layout of their party.

Adjacent to the ballroom is the Lounge. A perfect setting for the cocktail hour, it features two highly designed bars, custom-built furniture, and plenty of space for mingling. Outside, a grand fireplace invites guests to gather round with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

The Great Room, comfortably sitting up to 175 people, is equally as grand as its counterpart, elegantly designed with 30-foot barreled ceilings with exposed beams, custom light fixtures, and a large fireplace raised five feet off the ground. Cocktail hour is served in the Terrace, a glass-enclosed room with breathtaking views of the Watchung Mountains.

“Couples are looking for more than a beautiful space; they are looking for that level of experience,” says co-owner Claudine Revere. “At Stirling Ridge, part of that experience will be created by our culinary team. For us, the food is center stage.” With an entirely new culinary team consisting of all fine dining and á la carte chefs, the food is funky and creative, yet not over the top. All of the menus are customized to the wedding, and the chefs have the flexibility to accommodate any food requests, including ethnic cuisine.

This "premier wedding facility" almost ruined our wedding day by canceling 2 months prior to our event (due to their mistakes with construction). We scrambled to find another location, and re-plan our day.

They provided no help, were rude and unhelpful throughout the re-planning process and never even apologized.

    This happened to many couples.
