A third-generation family business, F. Gerald New (180 Main Street, Chatham, 973-635-6770; and 1107 Mt. Kemble Avenue, Morristown, 973-425-4485) has been offering in-store bridal registries since the store opened in 1942. They offer numerous one-of-a-kind items, many of which can be engraved. “We travel to London a couple of times a year to pick out the estate silver pieces we offer,” says owner Catherine Norbury. “And each one comes with a history card.” Other bridal favorites include handpainted porcelain china by New Hope, Pennsylvania, artist Anne Marie Murray, which couples can personalize by choosing the colors and patterns, and handblown glass from Simon Pearce.
