Rockin’ band: $5,000. Pretty dress for bridesmaids: $300. Sit-down dinner: $150 a head. Finding the perfect wedding dress at your favorite store: priceless.

Have you ever wished that you could do all your wedding clothes shopping at your favorite store? Now you can. For more than three years now, J. Crew has successfully offered a great wedding collection. Following the company’s philosophy of sophisticated American style, the collection consists of elegant pieces that can be worn as wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, or as special-occasion pieces, with prices ranging from $88 to $1,500. Materials for women include luxurious polished Solbiatti cotton, silk tricotine, silk faille, linen jacquard, duchess satin, and French lace. For the men, fabrics such as the Loro Piana wool navy blazer, cotton poplin, seersucker, and dress khaki are featured.

“The wedding collection reflects the quirkiness of J. Crew,” explains Jenna Lyons, vice president of women’s design. “We are trying to get people to think out of the box a bit. We wanted them to have more options in terms of clothes that felt more approachable, affordable, and not so old-school, but that are timeless and elegant. We wanted to give them ideas so that they can create their own unique way of interpreting a look for an event of some sort. We took the pieces that were iconically ours and made them a bit more special.”

Maybe you’re planning a casual beach wedding. Try the Madelyn dress in silk tricotine. It comes in long or short and can be paired with the Sophia short dress, also in silk tricotine, for your bridesmaids.

Or maybe a city wedding is more your style. The Vivian strapless dress in satin is classic and simple and comes in a custom-made box to ensure your wedding dress stays perfect. The Evelyn silk-faille dress would be the perfect accompaniment for your bridesmaids.

The collection is available online, in the catalog, and in specific retail locations, and a wedding specialist can help you coordinate all your wedding party outfits, plus accessories. What could be better than that?

And starting this summer, J. Crew will introduce some additional bridal options: A strapless duchess-satin gown with a two-tone sash and covered buttons, an Italian-linen column dress, hand-beaded in India, and a two-piece option, a duchess-satin mermaid skirt with a solstice lace top.

So follow the J. Crew rule of thumb and have fun. Choose more than one color and don’t be afraid to mix things up. Call 800-205-3877 to speak to a J. Crew special occasion coordinator or visit jcrew.com.
