Randy Fenoli from Say Yes to the Dress on TLC

Randy Fenoli, fashion director for Kleinfeld in Manhattan, and star of TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress goes dress shopping with us.

1. Choose the dress that makes you feel most beautiful. Only you will know which one it is.

2. What is the love story you will tell your guests? What role will your dress play in that story? Are you a princess? A diva? Audrey Hepburn?

3. Be honest with your consultant about your budget and your needs. Bring several images of dresses to your fitting. These should be gowns that inspire you and define the feeling you want your dress to convey.

4. Keep an open mind. Allow your consultant to select a few dresses for you. Sometimes you can’t envision the right dress until you try it on.

5. Being a bride means you’re becoming a woman. Step up to the plate and control your appointment. Invite only the right people (family and friends) who know your style, vision, and respect your opinion.

6. Wear proper undergarments to your fitting, not only to ensure a supportive foundation, but out of respect for your consultant.

7. Finding the right dress is like finding the right man. Once you get your hands on the right one, love it, commit to it— and then stop searching.
