Baja's Best: A dozen reasons to honeymoon in Los Cabos

Have you ever soaked in seawater while simultaneously gazing at the Sea of Cortes and the Pacific Ocean, kissed under a guava tree, tangoed with a marlin, or driven through the core of a mountain illuminated by 40 torches? Neither did I until my plane touched down in San Jose and I learned a new spelling and meaning of the word "romance." The proper spelling is Los Cabos and it is defined simply as paradise. If you are looking to launch your happily ever after in a land of love, set your honeymoon GPS to the Baja peninsula. Here you will find endless ways to discover bliss and beauty. Explore history in San Jose, inhale the electric nightlife of Cabo San Lucas, relax at a world-class resort, swing a club while a bird dances between a cactus and a desert flower, ride a horse on a beach, or parasail on top of paradise, my guess is that you will fall madly, deeply, and forever in love with Los Cabos. Here’s some planning ideas...

Variety accommodations: Solmar Hotel and Resorts Whether you want to spend your honeymoon in a laid-back natural setting or lavish in the lap of luxury, Solmar Hotel and Resorts afford the perfect setting. Conveniently situated in Cabo San Lucas, Solmar Resort, Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa, and The Ridge at Playa Grande reside in one location but boast unique personalities and price points. All boast a natural private beach (aaahhh...no vendors), a rock climb away from Lover’s Beach, and are close to the famous Arch of Cabo San Lucas. Fine dining, the Thalassotherapy Spa, and lively entertainment await. Wiggle your toes in white sand or jump on one of the largest sport fishing fleets in Cabo. Great packages year-round.

Hospitality and Service: Hilton Los Cabos Is there a magic genie in this place? If you think you are thirsty while you are working out, voila an attendant with a bottle of water appears. Dreaming about a refreshing bath? Are those rose petals I see in the tub? Super comfortable and perfectly situated on the corridor for golf lovers convenience. Fabulous spa and pool if you just want to hang out at the resort.

History: San Jose While Cabos San Lucas celebrates all that is young and beautiful, San Jose basks in the richness of history and culture. Meander in and out of art galleries, visit the famous church and be sure to stop by the estuary on the southeast side of the city.

You mention some great places in Cabo and there is so much more. A few of my favorite restaurants include Misiones de Kino (dinner), Salvatores (dinner), Baja Cantina (Marina and Beach), Mango Deck for Tortilla Soup, and Maria Corona. The Buccaneer Queen is a great tour and one of my favorites too along with the Rissalena, Cabo Sails. Cabo Adventures offer a variety of tours that are first class as well.
