Platinum Weddings Episode at the Philadelphia Hyatt Regency Hotel

On an episode of Platinum Weddings, David Tutera created this $1.4 million wedding at Philadelphia's Hyatt Regency hotel, with a brand-new $50,000 white carpet, custom-designed tables for $7,000 each, $150,000 on custom linens, and centerpieces totaling $70,000.

Be persistent. Ana Ortega applied to be on Whose Wedding Is It Anyway? for nearly a year before she finally got the call. Producers want to see someone who is passionate and not willing to take no for an answer.

Create a lively video. You don’t have to be over-the-top (unless you want to be featured on Bridezillas!), but you want your little five- to ten-minute video to stand out from the crowd. Showcase something unique about your personality—like your square-dancing abilities or your love of unicorns—to give you an edge over the competition.

Make sure your wedding is different. Shows like My Fair Wedding with David Tutera want to make sure they don’t feature the same themes over and over, so they look for couples who are planning more unique affairs. “Each bride has to have her own story, style, and personality, and so far, no two have wanted the same wedding design,” says Tutera.

Be a fan. During the application and interview process, talk about past episodes you liked and why you enjoy the show so much. This will prove to producers that you don’t want to be on just any show, but their particular program.

  • Life Changes too quickly

My fiance and I were engaged June 2010 and we are planning a wedding for October 2011 in north conway, NH. Since we met we havent had the opportunity to actually focus on our relationship as a couple. We bought a house and moved in with each other a month after we met and did the renovations, my parents divorced, struggled with finances for 2+ years right after we bought the house from not passing my national exam, which left me with a part time job and no money. My finace was left paying for all the bills. I have changed jobs and passed my exam ,which has been a relief, however we are stuck with family conflicts from the divorce and having to pay for the wedding ourselves. My parents at the moment communicate through letters, which makes it difficult to plan a wedding. I am now working 6-7 days a week, exhausted, and nervous that the wedding is going to be perfect. We want the wedding to be a time where we can just sit back and focus on each other for once and set aside all of our struggles. How are we going to plan this wedding without finances, without time to plan, and without communication among my parents???? Need help!! This show has encouraged me to reach out to others in helping us make our wedding day be a new start to our life.

  • Twice but truly loved once.

This would be me and my fiance second time I'm marriage. The odds of this world is totally against us. It's very hard for me, because the man in my life lives 2000 miles away. We have only seen each other 4 times I'm two years. You might say, "this girl in crazy"; she being played like a runner back. Let me say this the man I love is truly God founded. My family and friends don't believe me or think I'm crazy. The problem is it's so hard to get together due to the distance . I'm not a planer I totally stress out and get sick.please help me. I love this man and want nothing else but b his wife. I do believe he was made for me and sent to me from God. My story will be told. I would like to surprise my fiancee with a surprise wedding where we can possibly bring all of our love ones together. We cant really afford much, but having love ones around is priceless. My fiancee has a son fighting in Afghanistan and his youngest son mother passed away. we know there is nothing that can be done about that. It's the fact that for the first time in my life I'm very happy and I'm complete. I'm never had a wedding with cake and the whole memories . Thank you God Bless

  • daughters wedding

due to finances & work schedules my daughter & her fiancee had to postpone their 11/10 wedding. He is a laborere &she just got her BSN. Family contribution for wedding expenses is not an option for either one. I have always been single mom & could not even help her with college education. They have done everything on their own. They started planning, had Save the Date cards for Nov 5, 2010, photographer, etc & relized they couldn't do it this year. In order to take advantage of financial tax breaks for new home & education they went to JP. They didn't tell me until several months later because I kept asking about wedding plans! Nobody in our large extended family knows it & they don't want them to because they want to eventually have a real ceremony & celebration. They want to get married by our pastor & plan a wedding in their backyard between Sept & Nov 2011 to share with family & friends. They are very simple young people with simple tastes & would never want anything fancy. Their hope is to have enough money saved by then but want their marriage by JP to remain secret from rest of family. Her broher & I are the only people who know their secret. They are 26 yrs old & two of the most thoughtful, loving, hard-working young people I know. My daughter says she has a hard time reconciling the expense of a "one-day thing" yet I know she would love to have a backyard ceremony by our pastor to share with our family. All I have been able to give her in life is my love but definitely nothing else! They purchased a home together with a beautiful yard & she freq talk about her dream of being able to afford one day to "really get married, mom." I live in small apt & have no means to make a video to send. I have no plans of ever telling her I even sent this since I have never won anything in my lifte. It's too much for me to even dream about. I do appreciate somebody reading this if it even gets read!.Can imagine how many thousands of requests you get every day. Thank you.
