College sweethearts Grace Cambareri and Joey Prudente always knew they would end up married. Once they decided to tie the knot, Grace wanted people to say, “They’ve been together forever. They waited until they were ready to throw a dream wedding.” So for a celebration that was unique and memorable, the couple turned to Tina LaMorte of Oh So Fabulous in Maywood. “We both like to think big,” says Grace. “My husband is extreme in everything he does. Our wedding was a true reflection of our personalities.” LaMorte agrees: “Whatever’s too much for everyone else is just enough for Grace.”

Their elaborate pull-out-the-stops wedding on August 19, 2007, began with a small church ceremony in Katonah, New York. Grace was awed when she opened the doors to a monogrammed petal-strewn aisle runner and violin trio. Her gown was a gift from her late uncle, per a promise he made years earlier. Several guests wore sparkly brooches, which were souvenirs from boxed invitations hinting that this wedding was not one to miss.

An extravagant reception for 320 guests followed at the Rockleigh Country Club. The color scheme—ecru, champagne, and chocolate brown—revolved around the toffee-colored bridesmaid’s dresses. A monogrammed “P” with flourishes appeared everywhere. Leather lounge furniture beckoned guests to relax near the bar, and satin-wrapped rolls of Jordan almonds held table assignments. Drapery columns embellished the dance floor, as a ten-piece band played Motown to hip-hop. Each table sported a unique rose centerpiece, anchored by seven-foot-high floral arrangements at the corners. Grace and Joey’s table sat before a monogrammed mirror and fireplace. And guests filled treat bags at an elegant candy bar. As the reception drew to a close, four Vegas-style showgirls in gold satin gowns and feathered headpieces wheeled in a groom’s cake in the shape of a roulette wheel, with sparklers sputtering, to honor Joey’s upcoming thirtieth birthday. He was stunned; the guests were wowed. It was the golden topping to a grand night. To leave a lasting impression, the newlyweds gave crystal coolers, personalized with the guests’ initials and filled with tongs and champagne. The extravaganza continued for the newlyweds, with a dream honeymoon in Monte Carlo and the Greek Islands.

Looking back, LaMorte told us, “I plan dozens of weddings each year, but I’ll never forget this one. It was just so lavish and unique.” As for Grace? “The whole day was so much fun,” she exclaims. “I’d live it over again in a second.”
