Palermo's Custom Cakes and Bakery

Baker to the stars. Not only does Joanne Bruno of Palermo’s Custom Cakes and Bakery in Ridgefield Park (201-641-1654; palermobakery.com) know how to bake the perfect cake—she’s also got her hand in the celebrity and reality television worlds. From Jwoww and the Situation of “Jersey Shore” fame to Larry King, Tracy Morgan and David Tutera, she seems to have become the go-to celebrity cake baker. “I love the customer relationship that we build with our great clients,” Bruno, an Essex County resident, says.

While most patrons come to the bakery looking for one-of-a-kind wedding cakes, celebrities and their families have been searching out Bruno for unique cakes for all sorts of special occasions. From memorable birthday designs for Tracy DiMarco of “Jerseylicious” and Sherri Shepherd from ABC’s “The View” to an elegant purple-and-green tiered cake to celebrate internet guru Sean Parker’s engagement as well as a cake in the shape of an Escalade for the upcoming Gotti film starring John Travolta, Bruno has fun coming up with new designs everytime. “It’s so exciting being creative,” Bruno says, “and making their visions come true.” And she’s just as creative in making your own wedding visions come true, even if you’re a celebrity for just a day.
