Even though her store is tucked into the northwest corner of the state, a visit with Judy Fletcher, owner of The Wedding Store at Liz Clinton in Andover (973-786-5330; myweddingatlizclintons.com), is definitely worth the trip.

For brides who want a truly personal experience with a wonderful woman who really cares about what you wear, knows what looks good on you, and what doesn’t, Fletcher is the expert to meet.

When I met Fletcher during an interview for a television appearance, I was drawn instantly to her spirit and enthusiasm for dressing brides and her unequivocal knowledge for all things wedding.

So what does Fletcher have to say about helping you find the perfect gown? “A future bride walks in with lots of tearsheets about what gowns she loves and dreams of wearing, but I know exactly what style and shape gown a girl will look good in from the minute she walks through my door,” says Fletcher.

Fletcher believes it is all about a bride’s personal style, not about the trends. “Yes, we carry the latest designer gowns, but when shopping for a wedding dress, it helps to be open to trying on different styles, shapes, and colors that you may not have originally considered,” says Fletcher. “Nine out of ten times a bride ends up purchasing a gown nothing like the one she showed me in a picture. That, of course, is why I love what I do.”
