My idea so far is to have a civil ceremony with just the immediate family members and then have a reception for the rest of my family and friends. This way I figure I can save up and spend most of the money for the reception in my parents backyard. I hope this helps.

RE: Trying to have a small, small wedding

This place (http://www.chimneyhillinn.com/elope.htm) looked darling, but they can't possibly accomidate the number of guests i'm looking at, hopefully you'll have better luck. Now i think it is closer to $2,000 to have a wedding and small reception, but still worth contacting them I guess. Good luck!

Trying to have a small, small wedding

PLEASE! I am having suc a hard time planning this thing, I am ready to just elope! :w00t:We want to have something for under $1,000. So far it seems like its either all or nothing. Most places will NOT let you just have a ceremony and no reception, or wont let you have a reception for just 20 people. Does anyone know of any ideas? If we dont have a reception, but find a fabulous places to have the ceremony, that's fine.

Thanks,

Sandi
